C.A. Seydel Söhne Symphony 48 Chromatic C

Als BluesHarp-Spieler (Seydel, Lee Oscar, Hohner) empfinde ich das Spielen anfangs natürlich als etwas ungewohnt... Abstände, Anblasdruck, Gaumenpositionierung, ...aber schon nach kurzem Einspiel macht's eindeutig mehr Freude als "Arbeit"!
Also was will man mehr?

Das Folgende ist mir bisher aufgefallen:

Die Verpackung/ Transportbox ist stabil, wertig und sicher, ... aber für meine Verhältnisse etwas zu groß/ zu aufwändig.
Ja sicher, da ist noch Platz im Hartschalen-Case für eine weitere Chromatische vorgesehen (auch für ne 14-Loch...), aber ein bisschen kleiner wäre es auch okay gewesen.
Das Teil nimmt jetzt immerhin soviel Platz in meiner Musiktasche ein wie 14 Blusharps in ihrem Case!!
OK, Luxusprobleme... ;o)

Die Leder-Handschlaufe ist praktisch und hilfreich um einen Absturz des teuren Instruments zu vermeiden.
Gut gemacht!

Das Dunkelgrau als Grundfarbe für die Schalldeckel ist Geschmackssache, aber auf jeden Fall pflegeleichter (Fingerabdrücke!).

Die Verarbeitung insgesamt ist hervorragend!
Und so ziemlich jedes Teil ist austauschbar! Das nenne ich mal nachhaltig!
Reinigung ist vergleichsweise einfach, da das Ganze mit wenigen Schrauben gehalten wird. Wieder gut gemacht!

Die Bedienung des Schiebers ist unfassbar leicht (Magnete anstatt Feder),
dazu ein superglattes "Mundgefühl",
sprich nichts hakt oder behindert das Gleiten der Lippen. Super!

Das Ansprechen der Töne ist sehr direkt - ab einem gewissen Druck -, da muss ich noch üben.

Die Töne kommen laut und klar ohne ein anfängliches Zischen, Ploppen oder Pfeifen wie man es von billigeren Harps kennen mag.
Wenn man will, ist die Lautstärke wirklich beeindruckend. Es geht natürlich auch leiser.

Wer allerdings einen besonders warmen, soften und besonders leisen Sound sucht, der oder die muss wirklich viel viel üben und einen sehr flexiblen Mundraum haben. Oder sich besser noch für 'ne andere Harp entscheiden.
Wobei ich nicht sagen will, dass mit der Symphony 48 nicht auch leise, sanfte/ gefühlvolle Parts gespielt werden können! Braucht aber eine gewisse Eingewöhnung.

Die Stimmung ist echt unglaublich gut, soweit mein Gehör das beurteilen kann. Fettes Kompliment an die Fachleute!

Wie gesagt, der Gaumen/ Mundraum muss sich noch an die Positionierung vor allem bei den tieferen Tönen gewöhnen, aber selbst ein Bending/ Overblow ist (für mich derzeit ansatzweise) jetzt schon möglich!

Und ja, die Symphony 48 ist (erst mal) ziemlich schwer und ganz schön groß!
Da musste ich schon etwas tüfteln, um die Handhaltung von rechts und links "richtig" hinzubekommen. Und der Schieber sollte ja auch noch bedient werden können, ohne dass ein Tremolo dadurch unterbrochen wird.

Fazit:
Ihr bekommt für Euer Geld ein innovatives, technisch ausgereiftes, handwerklich meisterhaft gebautes Instrument mit herausragendem Klang. Da haben "die Sachsen" ihre Mitbewerber aus Trossingen sowas von abgehängt. Sorry.
Ob der angebotene Service (alle Ersatzteile, Reinigen, Stimmen,...) für Ambitionierte oder Professionals auf Dauer auch wirklich so gut sein wird wie versprochen, werden wir dann ja dann merken.
Ich hab JETZT jedenfalls eine Riesenfreude mit dem Teil und hoffe inständig, dass das Konzept der Klingenthaler aufgeht und noch viel mehr ambitionierte Musiker wie mich überzeugen kann!

Ich für meinen Teil werde Seydel uneingeschränkt als Qualität made in Germany (auch wenn's etwas abgedroschen klingen mag) weiterhin jeder und jedem gerne weiter empfehlen!

I am a Seydel enthusiast having Saxony and several 1847 classic/silver harmonicas.
The quality was always excellent and instruments taken out of the box were really playable without need of any work / corrections. Unfortunately it is not the case this time ...

I am a seafarer and I have purchased this harmonica while travelling (Express delivery to port I was visiting worked excellent! Thank you Thomann :-)).
If I had more time (home order) and possibility to wait for exchange I would send it back right away.

The harmonica arrived dirty and with plenty of glue like stains. I had to clean it which was not easy. The glue is originating from the foam at the bottom of the case - they used excessive amount of glue or it is just fitted without due care. When putting harmonica back to the case and then taking out again there are always some pieces of the rubber like glue attached to the covers. Unfortunately, if not being careful, it is easy to block, with this rubber like glue, valves or reeds.
From the first day I had problem with C (5 blow) and D (9 draw) which was very disappointing.

If not these problems I would rate it 5 star in every category but now it is 3 star only.
Built/ design is excellent, I like it more than my Saxony. New polished reeds are responding better as well - great for music played softly. When I had to take care of it on the first day (due to the problems with the glue and two channels) I have discovered that it is very easy to take covers out (top and bottom are independently mounted). To take out the slider is just one screw. Mouthpiece is very comfortable and easy to remove.

The case is highly protective and if not disqualifying glue particles inside of it, that would be my best choice!

I am very happy with the purchase of my new harmonica.
Besides it's solid and durable build, I really like it's playability, shape and sound.
I put only 4 stars on features, because the funcionality of the new magnetic slide (which is not so strong when pushing out), depends a little more than others on having a clean harmonica. Also the slider seemed to have some issue with the rubber screw gaskets inside.
Good thing you can supply with a spring.
It is a large harmonica compared to many other 12 holes for small hands, but I guess most will get used to that. Thumbs up!
