Excellent value for money headphones

I switched from a Hifiman Ananda Nano, and it was worth the switch. It has a decent bass and midrange, and the treble is not overly emphasized. Fortunately, no equalizer is needed for this. It is in perfect synergy with the Hifiman Serenade Wifi, which includes an R2R DAC, class A amplification with 2x760mWatt power at 300ohm and a built-in streamer, all of which produces a warm sound, but with surprisingly many details. Anyway, the headphones will only sound as good as the system in front. The headphones can handle up to 500mWatt at peak performance. Before i listened to them with a very expensive dongle DAC, which had low power (iBasso DC Elite), but it didn't sound nearly as good. So with the right pairing, it can easily replace a planar, especially if someone is looking for the right balance between exciting and calm music listening. And Thomann delivered the product on the promised day and packaged it safely, Thank you!

Great Headphones

I have been using beyerdynamic 990 Pro open back headphones for over 3 years. I mainly stuck with them for their analytical high end and neutrality which helped me with mixing.

But I decided to upgrade when music was just not giving me the shivers anymore... My ears had grown accustomed to analysis, not just plain listening. Music had become more of a job rather than music.

When I got the 660s2's I was quite excited. My initial reaction was a surprise at how different audio can sound. I spent my first hour with these headphones in complete confusion. My ears were confused listening to old favorites. But now 7 days later I can say these headphones are amazing. They bring out missed details, unbalanced mixes sound more obvious and overall listening to music has become extremely fun again. Music contains so much depth you can miss out on sticking to plain old headphones.

The only con is that this model is advertised as a boosted low end variant. In a techno heads opinion, it's quite flat amplitude wise, but the bass can definitely go way deeper. You will be able to hear extremely obvious changes when filtering 30-80 hz Subs. The bass is there but if you are into techno you will need a good amp.

Vorbemerkung: Ich kenne keines der Vorgängermodelle und war bisher eher im AKG-Lager unterwegs. Ich mag neutrale Kopfhörer mit guter räumlicher Darstellung und hoher Auflösung.
Bisher hatte ich den AKG K702, den AKG K500 und (zum Vergleich geliehen) den Sennheiser HD800S, der zugegebenermaßen in einer anderen Liga spielt.
Ich wollte einen Kopfhörer mit etwas mehr Wiedergabe im Bassbereich und habe mir deshalb den Sennheiser HD660S2 bestellt. Die Basswiedergabe des HD660S2 ist tatsächlich sehr gut und ausgewogen. Allerdings finde ich den Rest des Klangbildes etwas zu ungenau. Wenn ich mich in das Klangbild hineinversetze, bin ich es gewohnt, jedes Instrument klar zu orten und sauber abgebildet zu bekommen. Beim HD660S2 habe ich aber das Gefühl, ich würde durch eine leicht unscharfe Brille „schauen“. Und wenn mehrere Instrumente nebeneinander spielen, verschwimmt der Klang etwas. Im Vergleich zu den AKGs und dem Sennheiser HD800S fehlt außerdem die weite Räumlichkeit. Beim HD660S2 drängt sich der Klang näher um meinen Kopf. Ich mag das nicht. Das ist zwar Kritik auf hohem Niveau, aber trotzdem werde ich den HD660S2 nicht behalten.

Kopfhörer absolut zu beurteilen ist ja immer etwas schwierig - ich kann daher nur ein Urteil relativ zum HD 660S abgeben.
Verarbeitung und Tragekomfort sind identisch, was wenig überrascht.
Zum Klang: Merklich besserer Bass, insgesamt klingt die neue Version dadurch wärmer und harmonischer. Kein dramatischer Unterschied zum Vorgänger, aber durchaus ein angenehmes und willkommenes Update!
