Not what it seems.

If you think you can plug any 3.5mm source in mic input, you are wrong. It should have been mentioned that this will work "ONLY" with smartlav. The description said "Compatible with Rode smartLav" not "Made for".

I give it a quality of 5 stars because when use with smartlav, it is great.

I gave it poor total because of not being clear with the description. input is supposed to be an input. If it's specifically design for specific kind of device, you should made it clear.

This one won't receive signal if your mic input is coming from a mixer. I would be gladly be proven wrong because I bought many of these.

Rode makes it work

It is an nice good working adapter.
Perhaps to high priced for its use and function. But never the less it does a very good job. I have been using it now with some other mic options and that seemed to work well too. I like the headphone option they build into it so it provides you also the possibility to listen to the audio source while using it.
The device itself is made of plastic, and that is ofcourse oke and Rode made a good job in making a bit more sturdy then normal adapters of this size I have been using.

So when you are buying the Rode Lavier mic, Rode WIreless Go and some of the other adapter cables...I would just advise to add this Rode SC6 to your shopping cart. Its worth it and ready to use,.

Wish my review has been of support to those that wanted to know more about it.
