Sounds silly, yet it's true - you could really appreciate it only if you used it!

I never imagined that a sequencer could be that much fun, immediate, motivating and boosting creative ideas. I bought it as a companion to the 0-Coast and Strega, no news it pairs wonderfully with them, but it is just as great to control other analogue synths. It does take a bit of a learning curve to get it as your second nature, but the basic 'idea' is learnable quite quickly. The pressure-pads are very responsive, and it is a hell lot of fund to use its pressure outputs to control parameters. The speed of it could be turned up so it can dub as an LFO / audio rate oscillator as well. The price is certainly high, but if you are already in the Make Noise game, it is not that overpriced, and if you start to appreciate how many ways you could use it in a semi/modular setup, it might be even more forgivable.

Perfect with 0-Coast

The perfect controller for the 0-Coast, and feels tactile and intuitive to play. Might(?) not be ideal as a controller for live performance, but as a compositional tool it's a dream. I bought the 0-Coast and 0-Ctrl because I'd read the 2 in combination described as a (more) affordable version of a Buchla Music Easel, and after playing for a couple of weeks that feels kind of right to me.

Ansich ein sehr interessanter Sequencer, mit dem man teils coole Ergebnisse hinkriegen kann. Hatte ihn mir zum Sequencen von Drums und Filtern zugelegt, da mir das Konzept von variabler Schrittlänge sehr gefiel. Man kann durch gezieltes Verbinden der Trigger recht komplexe und teilweise von einander getrennte Seqzenzen schaffen und so z.b. auch verschiedene Rolls/Flams unterbringen. Der Einfluss der Schrittlänge ist dabei ebenso anpassbar, so dass die Beats auch "eiern" können.

Leider aber geht das nur mit einer sehr geringen Anzahl von Schritten und ist abhängig von der Laufrichtung. Mit einem Modularsystem und zusätzlichen Sequencern wäre da vmtl. viel mehr rauszuholen. Ein weiterer Punkt, der mich sehr frustriert hat, ist dass die Touchflächen oft nicht auf meine Finger reagieren und teils doppelt und dreifach auslösen. Leider kann man diese Flächen auch nicht getrennt vom Sequencer benutzen um z.B. die Pitch-Zeile für einen Synth nehmen. Im Gegensatz zum Manual auf der Make Noise-Website aktivieren sich der "Pressure" der Touchflächen übrigens nicht beim bloßen Drücken, sondern nur durch das Verbinden der Flächen mit dem Rest des Metallgehäuses.

Insgesamt interressant, braucht aber mehr Equipment als ich habe um wirklich nützlich zu sein. Daher geht er wieder zurück.

Mistificazione?

Bell’oggetto, costruito bene, packaging insufficiente in perfetto stile modulare (scatola di cartone bianca, leggera e anonima) , cavi patch stackable (2) economici (nessuno lungo e non alla tiptop), due sticker e alimentatore di serie.
Utilizzo pressoché immediato, ragiona come step sequencer più touchplate per suonare o enfatizzare parametri CV, gate.
Un doppio Pressure Points + Brain con piccole migliorie.
Da avere? Complemento buono, non come sequencer primario e non melodico proprio perché a differenza del Renè non è quantizzato (che invece ha doppia uscita CV sia quantizzata che non).
Analogico puro è magico con randomizzazioni da bpm esagerati, ed è, per me, elemento più ritmico.
Prezzo di fabbrica alto, per la stessa cifra (e anche meno) le alternative più performanti e complete si sprecano, vedi Keystep Pro.
