Lehle Mono Volume S

Vorab kurz zu mir: Ich spiele seit 40 Jahren E-Gitarre und suche für "meine" Coverband (ca. 10 Auftritte pro Jahr) ein Volumenpedal für den Livebetrieb.
Jetzt zur Bewertung: Wer ein Volumenpedal mit hervorragender Boostfunktion sucht, ist hier genau richtig!
Das Lehle ist (wie gewohnt) hervorragend verarbeitet und macht einen super stabilen Eindruck. Es arbeitet über den ganzen Pedalweg vollkommen flüssig und homogen Die insgesamt fünf Presets (Boostfunktion) sind sehr gut abgestimmt und extrem praxistauglich. Der zusätzliche Schub ist wirklich klasse. Ich habe auch nicht das Gefühl, dass das Pedal beim runterregeln Höhen schluckt. Super!
Das Teil lässt sich überall einsetzen, in der Effektkette oder im Einschleifweg, dann als genialer Mastervolumenregler. Sicherlich nicht nur für meine Bogner XTC eine super Ergänzung.
Nachteile? Im direkten Vergleich mit einem Ernie Ball 6203 habe ich das sehr subjektive Gefühl, dass das Lehle etwas mehr von der Dynamik der Bogner XTC schluckt. Das ist aber Geschmackssache und steht einer spitzen Bewertung nicht im Weg.
Letzten Endes habe ich mich dennoch für das besagte Ernie Ball entschieden. Aber nicht, weil das Lehle schlechter wäre. Für mich ist der Boost nicht wichtig , dafür aber das im Liveeinsatz geniale Display auf dem Ernie Ball (s. Bewertung). Letzten Endes ging es mir um die Qual der Wahl zwischen zwei super Pedalen, die einfach etwas andere features haben.
Fazit: Wer das Lehle nimmt, macht sicherlich nichts falsch!

Lehle ist weithin bekannt für seine Top-Qualitätsprodukte mit ultimativer Flexibilität. Hier reiht sich das "Mono Volume S" nach bester Art des Hauses perfekt ein. Es ist nicht einfach nur irgendein "geschrumpftes, weiteres Volume Pedal" - es ist vielmehr eine audiophile Kreation mit einer perfekten Feature-Palette ;-)!

PROS:
o Audiophile Boost Funktion mit 0dB, 5dB, 10dB und zwei Geschmacksrichtungen von "P4" (Empfehlung des Küchenchefs... wie Lehle so originell schreibt) - damit gibt es selbst in der längsten Signalkette keine Verluste und auch beim direkten Anfahren von Röhrenamps kann der Sound optimiert werden
o Dank Hall Sensor absolut verschleißfrei
o Trotz der eher kompakten Maße bietet es eine extrem feinfühlige Volume Anpassung (natürlich im Widerstand einstellbar) - auch für eher große Füsse
o Zusätzlicher Direct Out - nichts anderes hätten wir erwartet :-)
o Per USB-C lässt sich das Teil zudem als MIDI Controller (zB Expression Pedal oder Preset Steuerung) einsetzen

CONS:
o Keine - witzig ist nur, dass die Status-LEDs (die sonst bei Lehle gerne sehr hell sind), hier eher klein ausfallen und direkt unter dem Pedal "versteckt" sind. Absolut unkritisch, da man seine Lieblingseinstellung wahrscheinlich selten ändert - will man das aber live tun, wird etwas Feingefühl benötigt.

Das ganze hat natürlich einen - angemessenen - Preis, aber dafür bekommt man klanglich ein Meisterwerk, edelste Verarbeitung und Volumen für Generationen ;-). Go for it!!

i've been using the original Lehle Volume pedal for years, the one as big and heavy and solid as the old Benz /8, and i'm still using it – but.

at home, where i keep a small pedalboard on the floor under the desk, the original one doesn't fit... so i counted up to 20, trying to resist throwing some further money to another piece of gear – and finally surrendered to buying this.

it does all that the big one does, and better – because.
level setting, on this one, is quantized: you press once, twice (three times a lady) – and your level is perfectly "reproduced" like last time you used it.

why this matters?

because you have to get back to "old" recordings (that track, that signal chain, that guitar), and make an edit on the fly, one that shall fit like it was done exactly on that day, on that time, in that take, on that session – so level must match first and foremost, of all things!

level on its big brother is a potentiometer – smooth, great looking, protected against accidental misuse, but still a pot that you can easily place 5 or 2 or 4 degrees away from where it was meant to be (unless min or max, of course)... this pre-set push-button setting is simply bullet-proof, instead: always at that same exact level.

feel-wise and sound-wise, this Mono Volume S works exactly like the standard Lehle Volume Pedal: the one after which all other volume pedals i have can only be dusted from time to time – it's just size-wise smaller (which helps, in my case).

ps: beside its use for setting volume or making swells, the bit that hardly anyone notices is that, from its output onward, your signal runs to destination "caged" in a solid, protected path, impedance-wise... dead-silent, impervious to stray magnetic fields and RF interferences – and (even better): your guitar's tone and volume pots now scale your signal perfectly smooth, without sudden peaks or dips, across their entire rotation, too, because its active circuitry doesn't load your passive controls [and, if you have guitars or basses with active circuitry, too, like i for myself have: it works its magic with them just the same]!
