Guild OM-140CE Nat Westerly

For quite a while I wanted to have a Guild guitar, but, for one reason or other, other things got prioritised… you know how it goes in life. Now finally I got the chance and decided for this one. Firstly all wood and secondly including a gig bag. Am I satisfied? I am over the moon! I have been playing for many years, in fact since I was a child and now, well, I'm much older… :-(
The workmanship is excellent and the setup is perfect (but that's always a personal thing). The playability is a joy and the sound is, even for a brand new guitar, fabulous… and will only get better! I have not tested the pickup yet, but I know these from before and am not worried. Optically it's extremely well designed and beautiful with perfectly matched wood.
The only drawback is possibly the gigbag which is quite nice but still just a gigbag. For serious transportation or even flying its really not suitable. Maybe the guitar should be made available also without the bag or a hardcase possibly - therefore one star less for features. However, and as usual, Thonmann's service and postage is excellent! Thank you.

Sounds pretty good indeed played acoustically though when amped the sound isn’t as great as what you’d get in say a lower end Taylor but then this is cheaper so hard to complain.
When I got mine the action was crazy high so expect to require a proper action set up when you get yours. The nut needs some attention too as it clicks when tuning in and down so is pinching the strings. Needs a slight file and some nut sauce and all will be well.
Comes with a simple but rather nice and completely adequate gig bag.
All in all, for the money, a pretty good guitar.

Ich habe lange Zeit eine vollmassive Dreadnought fürs Fingerpicking benutzt, mir aber etwas handlicheres gewünscht. Vorgabe für mich war ein Orchestramodel bis 1000,- Euro mit Fichtendecke und Sattelbreite über 44mm.
Zuerst hatte ich mir eine Cort Gold O8 bei einem anderen Händler bestellt, ganz tolle Gitarre, aber leider löste sich die Bridge und ein Ersatzmodel war nicht lieferbar und so fiel mir die Guild ein, von der ich einen hervorragenden Bericht in einem Musikerforum gelesen habe.

Die Guild kam sehr gut eingestellt bei mir an, hervorragend verarbeitet ohne Makel und sehr leicht. Sie ist sehr handlich, gut bespielbar, hat einen sehr schönen warmen und für diesen kleineren Korpus sehr lauten Klang.

Der eingebaute PreAmp klingt sehr gut, war für mich aber nicht von Belang. Positiv überrascht war ich von dem hochwertigen Gigback, da kann sich so mancher Hersteiller eine Scheibe von abschneiden.

Fazit: Ich bin sehr zufrieden mit der Guild, neben Fingerstyle ist auch leichtes Strumming bei niedriger Saitenlage drin und das alles für einen relativ günstigen Preis.
