Thomann Alto vs cheap wooden recorders

I ordered the Thomann Alto along with the Yamaha YRA ECO out of pure curiosity, to compare two resin recorders of different price ranges. To my surprise, both of them sounded much better than the cheap wooden Zamir-Ariel I had tried before! There is some prejudice against plastic recorders but to tell the truth, they sound much better than a cheap, poorly made and out of tune wooden one. The Thomann has a perfect response in the low and medium register, but after high C (C6) sounds a little shrill and empty, in other words, plastic. I use this mixture of dish detergent and water 1:1 and it never gets hoarse. All in all, the Thomann Alto is a perfect recorder for students who don't want to spend a lot of money and don't need to be discouraged by out of tune instruments.

i bought this and two other Thomann recorders after watching a youtube review by Sarah Jeffery / Team Recorder. I am delighted that Thomann have made music so accessible, as I love trying my hand at something new. This Alto recorder has lovely sounds and I found it very easy to play. Very nice quality, came with bag and accessories.
