Das Shank Dent Tool ist eine einfache Lösung um Verformungen aus dem Ende des Mundstückschafts (nach einem "Sturz") auszubeulen und wieder rund zu machen. Klappt auch bei anderen dünneren Rohren und Ähnlichem. Das Material ist schwer, glatt und wirkt hochwertig. Die Form ist praktisch und sollte bei allen Mundstücken die ich verwende (Trp, Flh, Cornet) funktionieren. Einzige Einschränkung: Wenn man das Tool zu herzhaft mit der Hand in das Mundstück drückt, könnte sich das Ende des Schaftes ausbiegen und Probleme mit der Mundstückaufnahme erzeugen.
Lösung: Man verwendet das Tool als Mandrel: Nicht zu fest in den Mundstückschaft drücken und das Schaft-Ende gleichmäßig vorsichtig rund herum mit einem Gummihammer (oder Rawhide Mallet) beklopfen, bis es wieder schön rund ist. (So machen es auch die Profis.) Sehr empfohlen.
