Great product

08.12.2016
The kids Cajon is a great piece. It is the right size and the sound is no difference from a normal Cajon. I was amazed to see the quality finish and the performance of this little Cajon.
My son was so delighted that he can climb on it and he is in no danger of falling.
Great product.

My three-year-old offspring finds her prima!

Dirk150, 05.03.2017
If you are looking for a musical instrument for a three and a half year old, you do not want to spend a fortune. In addition, the instrument should be adapted to the body size and bring some stability. In my case, I observed that the son of a man was drumming more and more frequently on all sorts of crates and showed an amazing sense of rhythm for his age. It was not far from the idea to buy a cajon.

Most cajons are too big for children of this size. You could of course take a normal-sized Cajon, and these simply crosswise. But that would require the use as with an adult. Children of this age like to drag their things through the area, and here a grown cajon would be impractical for the offspring and dangerous for the housing establishment.

At Thomann I came across the Junior 3 Cajon. The dimensions of 30 x 31 x 27 cm fit perfectly for this body size. The weight of 3 Kg is not a problem for my son, and at a price of 35 ¤ you can not do too much wrong, even if the enthusiasm for percussion should ease quickly.

The body of this Cajon is made of birch, the striking surface of willow wood. Processing is acceptable. There are quite a number of inaccuracies in manufacturing. In two places are also small quirks in the wood of the corpus.

But here one should not make a point; It will not remain the only ones.

At the bottom are large rubber feet attached. Looking through the sound hole on the back, you can see that inside strings are tense on the face, which is the typical "snaresound"? The Cajon form. There is also a plug-in hole in the interior, in which a key for re-tensioning the strings finds its place. The big ones should keep them safe, because they will not stay long in children. Or is it only with my son so? Good Papa also takes everything first apart and the apple falls as is known not far from the trunk?

Not so beautiful I find the overly great Thomann imprint on the face for my feeling. Less would have been aesthetic here. The new owner does not mind the seemingly the bean.

The Cajon comes without manual. This is a bit of a pity. At least I would have wanted a reference to the Spannschüssel. At first I had really no idea what this metal pin? To be good. However, I had only ever played on such an instrument. A call in the corresponding department of the great T aired the secret.

Even before the instrument was handed over to Filius, Papa first got an impression of it: it does not sound bad. For the size, amazing bass is available. A light slaping (that means?) With the fingers brings the strained sides well to the sound. Blows on the sides of the body provide a differentiated complement to the bass of the striking surface. In short: it works and is actually to be used as an instrument.

Much more important however is the question, how the Cajon the actual owner like. Pure enthusiasm! I briefly showed him how to sit, and how to draw different sounds from the box. Well, and since then, our neighbors have added a new acoustic enhancement to my wife's and my guitars' piano. He sings one song after another and accompanies himself on the Cajon. It is not always easy to convey to him that this is not a good idea at six o'clock in the morning. Horror at my wife triggered the latest suggestion: "Papa, we have to install a Pizzo [sic!], As with the Stompbox." Where did the boy come from?
