Took a chance on buying a replacement speaker for a Warwick 1x15 cab, what the hell, I can always use it for something else if I don't like it. All I can say is "WOW"! For only EUR59, it's hard to believe it's not the same as the Eminence Kappa 15 (EUR185 or so) that I have in a similar cab. Cast frame, 300w, good solid lows, crisp highs and full mids. EUR59.......what's not to like?
I have a pair of the box PA 252 cabs (which I believe have two of these in them), so when I was given a pair of 1x15" cabs with no drivers these were the obvious choice to get them up and running. The installation went smoothly, I was pleased to find that they have sprung terminals... which I think in the long-run will be far more reliable than re-using the original crimp connectors from the cabs crossover.
Now using them for rehearsals with a 6 piece band and easily handling vocals, keys, kick & snare. They sound and handle so well... it's amazing to think that it's a sub £100 rig.
The only complaint I have about these is the packaging... although the box is very sturdy, the silica gel sachets have been stapled to the inside of the box and all of them ripped open in transit. So even though they've been separated from the speaker (which is sealed in a thick plastic bag), the silica balls went everywhere when the boxes where opened... kept finding them rolling about my kitchen for weeks.
