Good sounds all day long

Beginners looking for a powerful yet affordable complete live sound package need look no further than the PA 4080 Powermixer Package from Thomann's in-house brand the t.amp, which provides all the equipment needed to easily amplify speech or vocals. This mono PA system comes with a microphone and a set of generously sized speakers, as well as all of the necessary cables, and the included power mixer additionally features a reverb effect. If speaker stands aren't an immediate requirement, users can save money by purchasing them separately at a later date (these are available as an accessory in Thomann's the t.amp PA 4080 Package Stand Set). The mixer also offers further connection options for instruments, additional voices, and recordings.

Ready, steady, go!

Before a performance, simply connect the microphone in the t.amp PA 4080 Package to one of the four XLR inputs on the power mixer; an optional jack input is also available for instruments. After switching on the mixer and microphone (on the device itself), the input and master volume potentiometers allow the signal to make its way to the speakers. The input can be optimised using the 5kHz Tone boost, as well as the three-band equaliser in the master section, and reverb can also be added as required. The mono sum signal on the back of the mixing desk is connected to the external speaker outputs of the integrated amplifier, which can be connected to the powerful 10" loudspeakers using the cables included. MP3 players or recorders can also be plugged into the mixer via the RCA stereo jack pairs on the rear of the unit.

The perfect choice for beginners

The t.amp PA 4080 Package gives beginners everything they need to perform songs in front of an audience, and as the mixer is independent of the speakers, the vocal reverb can be discreetly turned down during presentations. This compact PA is quick to install, making it ideal for use in venues like schools and social clubs. In rehearsal room settings, this sound system offers a true live feeling, and playback devices can be connected via the stereo cinch input. Smaller bands, too, can plug their instruments into the line inputs and adjust the volume separately, and in addition to the vocal microphone, a second microphone can be added for multiple performers at events like intimate comedy evenings. What's more, the RCA connection can be used to record the performances directly.

About the t.amp

the t.amp is one of the many in-house brands belonging to Musikhaus Thomann, and since 1998 has offered power amplifiers, complete passive PA sets, keyboard amplifiers, and connection systems. The brand's entire product range delivers an impressive combination of quality and reliability at attractive prices, and users can find a convincing and affordable solution for every application: From youth clubs and sports halls through to congress centres and much more.

From rehearsals to live gigs

Many performers will no doubt prefer to keep their hands free while they are doing their thing: All that's needed for this mic already included here is a the t.bone microphone holder M and a suitable stand. Singer-songwriters can hook up their guitars to one of the power mixer's inputs using a cable of their own, and they can activate vocal reverb using a foot switch (also sold separately). To use an external effects unit, they can route the audio signal to the Reverb Out, which is fed from the effects unit into the AUX input, and a subwoofer can also be connected to the Main Out for enhanced bass response. And as mentioned above, speaker stands are available to purchase at a later date, should they become necessary.

Good package, handling in need of improvement
Marc3929 21.02.2014
Features:
The set comes with a 4-channel mixer amp, two 10" speakers, a microphone and cables.
Everything you need to immediately start using it is there. You connect the speakers with the mixer, plug in an instrument, a laptop etc. and start making music.
I use it in my 20m² practice room and the amp delivers more than enough volume to play the drums to a play along via the speakers.

Sound:
The sound is quite okay for this price, it could have more bass and heights, but I did not expect audiophile quality. For my purposes more than enough.

Quality:
The casing for the plugs on the back of one of the speakers got torn out after a few weeks, but the speaker works nevertheless.
The quality of the mixer is good, i got no troubles there at all.
The microphone's quality is very poor, so I would not use it for singing, maybe for speeches or something like that it would work.

If you are looking for an inexpensive PA and four channels are enough for you, I would recommend this Package. Note that there are no stands included.

At first sight is worth it
Daphne__ 12.01.2022
Although, the overall description seems appealing with this price, the moment it arrived I was a bit disappointed.

*Quality of sound not really good
*Features of mixer not really existing
*At first glance looks solid but in a close-up is fragile

I wouldn't recommend this product as with a bit more money you can find yourself with a much more decent package. Of course, that depends on its usage, meaning if you want it to occasionally listen to music or watch movies, I would say it's fine.

Fool me twice...
Tom5474 01.08.2016
I should have realised that this would end badly when my new PA arrived and there was no sound from it. After completing the return process, a new package arrived and this time it worked.
I never gigged the PA; it was used for practice about once every two months.
Now, just two years later this amp has packed up.
Very, very disappointing, Thomann.

t.amp PA 4080

Got this for my summer gigs in hotels/restaurants.

Great little compact PA system, which hides a very powerful punch!

Very versatile, compact, well built for this price point, light, easy to operate/assemble. Easily has enough power for a large terrace (60 square meter) Not suitable for larger venues.

Highly recommended for a small ensembles playing in small to mid sized venues! Price is excellent and doesn't reflect badly on the product at all!
