Nice sound for good price

I started playing tenor sax for 3 years. After one year, I decided to buy me a new mouth piece for a better sound (I had a standard yamaha). I'm very content, especially in relation to the price.
The handling is good, you can clip it easily on the s-bow.
The responsiveness is very good, you can form the tone sensitive and soft (if you want to).
You can get a bell shaped sound with the tool. The tone spectrum is well balanced.
Buying the Selmer S80D was a great motivation for me, it's still a pleasure playing it.
I'm playing with a drummer and a bass player in a jazz trio.
All in all I think it is suited for playing in classic style or smooth jazz. It's not "rough" enough for bebop or blues.

Top-Allrounder mit Understatement

Das Saxophonspiel besteht aus vielen Komponenten, welche sich wechselseitig beeinflussen, das Mundstück ist nur ein Teil davon, weshalb man kaum sagen kann, es ist schlecht oder gut. Aus der Kombi S80D, Ich, YTS 875 und Vandoren Jazz 2 ergab sich aber die Erfahrung: Ein unauffälliger Allrounder, der es aber faustdick hinter den Ohren hat! Spontane Ansprache von tief bis hoch, es spielt sauber Etüden, fühlt sich weder bei Swing noch bei Egerländern fremd und sofern einen der Jazz-Hafer sticht ist es zu allem Unsinn bereit und fähig. Kontrollierte und flexible Spielweise möglich. Der Klang ist voluminös, es lässt sich laut, rauchig, aber auch "filigran" spielen.

Ich bin jedenfalls glücklich damit, andere sollten es zumindest mal ausprobieren.

Después de comenzar en el estudio del saxofón tenor, en ocasiones, con cualquier boquilla, Selmer ofrece la posibilidad de cambiar por no mucho dinero a una boquilla de características semi-profesionales. La calidad del producto es la esperada por cualquier conocedor de la marca y el distintivo "D" que refleja el nivel de abertura, es una paso más adelante que las populares "C" y "C*" más adecuadas para principiantes "puros".
