Very tough case.
23.12.2015
I bought this case for my screwbell horn as it came with a soft case for use with the bell off. I'm not a big fan of removing the bell (slightly ironic) so I leave it attached and transport it in this case. The case is very well made with good handles and strong zip fasteners with a soft slightly fluffy lining. It fits my double horn very nicely, has 2 mouthpiece sockets and a large external pocket. It is reasonably heavy, but I am happy with the weight trade off for the superior protection the solid sides give. I would be very happy to recommend this case.

Nicely made case but the backpack option is hopeless.

I like Protec instrument cases - they are always nicely made, good value and look very smart. This was no exception, with strong positive zips. It is a neat and lightweight case giving good protection. I bought the backpack clip-on straps and that is where the problem arises. Because it attaches on the rim of the case, it ends up contorting your neck and back. It was really uncomfortable for my daughter to use and I found it horrible myself when I had to carry it for her one time. So, it's a great case if you DON'T use the back pack straps but absolutely terrible with that attachment. I can't believe they didn't try it first - if they had attached it to the body part of the case (like every other manufacturrer does) it would have worked fine and, like other cases, the bell could sit behind your head with the case itself flat against your back, rather than trying to bend your out of shape.

Good product, but a few must
Théo F., 29.07.2011
I am very happy with this case, but there are some points that are not up to par.
The pocket on the side is practical, but not large enough to accommodate an A4 size. It is therefore not very practical to carry its partitions.
On my horn model (yamaha 567), if I pull too much the main tuning branch, the instrument no longer passes into the box. It is therefore necessary to push it as much as possible so that it holds.
I quote only the defects, but this box obviously has many qualities. Notably the strength of the box, the design rather successful, the possibility to put it on the back (by buying the straps, sold separately).

I recommend this product.

The horn suitcase itself is for the price completely in order. However, we are looking for a cover that you can wear well on your back. We bought and installed the carriers. The suitcase then hangs very uncomfortably on the shoulders. Since the attachment of the carriers is at the upper edge of the funnel, a large cavity is formed on the back, while the funnel is pressed in the neck.
For both adults and (even more) for children this is not practical.
