I've been against Ovation for a long time, because I do not really like the nasal part of the electro-acoustic part, and the things that I had in my hand so far were not so great, too ... but that is on another sheet.
Now I bought a 1771AX-CCB standard ballad without surgery, which touched me acoustically and haptically so that I wanted to rebuild them. After an amazingly fast successful hunt for the mysteriously held by Ovation rar can (OP-Einbauschale), I have therefore ordered an OP-Pro. The two anchoring clips to the body look wobbly, but work surprisingly well. I'm less impressed by the OP-Pro's choice for the battery replacement: the OP must be unlocked with a small plastic button (more precisely, you can press the button until the surgery is fumbled out of the mounting position), then with a fingertip feeling obliquely Can be leveraged from the can. No grip, no ribbed surface, no pull strap helps. In addition, the operating theater has to engage in a contact strip and, in the case of expansion, it is also held by the latter. The provided supply via XLR / phantom power requires an additional module (connection board with jack and XLR and a few components, there is also not again at every corner and costs so around the 35-40 euro ... quite violently).

The OP-Pro comes with a built-in tuner, which, apparently unlike many other Ovation OPs, also works when no plug in the output does its service. Fine. Actually, the only real plus.

One of my reasons to try an ovation (and to use original parts) was my hope to send noisy pre-amplification in the desk or amplifier than with cheap parts ..
