It features 64 velocity-sensitive, colour-illuminated pads alongside 16 additional buttons, creating a clear and responsive interface for building musical sequences. Clear operation, responsive feel
The 64 pads can be illuminated in vibrant RGB colours, creating a clear visual overview of sequences and making it easier to distinguish individual instruments. Dynamic Note and Scale modes help maintain musical accuracy, for melodies that naturally stay in key while keeping the playing experience intuitive. Control over Ableton Live remains smooth and direct, with functions such as Stop, Mute, Record, Pan, Volume and Send easily accessible when shaping a track. About Novation
The English company Novation has been producing affordable popular synthesizers as well as MIDI controllers and keyboards since its foundation in 1992. It was later acquired by the well-known British audio interface manufacturer Focusrite, but the brand still exists within the parent company. Customisable software package
The Launchpad X can be expanded further using the browser-based editor Novation Components, which offers, among many other things, the option to customise MIDI mappings across four user-defined modes. Within these setups, MIDI CC messages and programme commands can be assigned freely, and even rows or columns can be transformed into faders for more hands-on control. The package includes an extensive software bundle, featuring the DAW Ableton Live Lite as well as a broad selection of instruments and effects from a variety of partners. In addition, users benefit from regularly changing offers through Novation's Sound Collective community. Taken altogether, this turns the Launchpad X into a ready-to-use setup, for a smooth start into music production straight out of the box.
