The price was ok, but no Wunderkiste

cue.big, 30.04.2018
First of all, what I do not like and shakes my head:

- Rear Panel:

This is not really a rear panel. The connections for the power plug, Footswitch, DI Out and FX Loop are recessed at the rear and aligned at the bottom. And labeled down. Great, an example of making life difficult for a live guitarist. So either the speaker while cabling on the speaker side put on the floor and shine with cell phone flashlight behind to see if you z. For example, connect the loop correctly, or stick smart labels on the back exactly over the respective sockets themselves. The reason for this nonsense is probably that - presumably for cost reasons - the combo and simply the same amp chassis is used as the head. I claim now, since this assumption imposed as a result of the otherwise unexplainable miserable position of the rear ports.

- Footswitch / FX Loop:

If I have not overlooked any trick, then the FX loop is only usable when the footswitch is connected. Only then can the loop be switched on. If there is no switch, the loop is off. There is no switch on the amp. So always have Footswitsch with you. Oh, man, Marshall. For how many years have you been building amps?

sound:

That's ok, I would say, in terms of price even above average. Relatively open and dynamic as long as you consider what the amp costs. One should not expect miracles, but the amp is already fun. It is a 1-channel. Over Gain does not come with ner Strat much Zerre, but rather pressure, which is already good. But also more compression. With the master comes final stage grade, which is quite passable.
The tilt control at zero means according to manual? Normal heights ?. The further you turn, the more high heights? are added according to manual. That's pretty much true indeed. Useful for customizing single coil guitars to humbuckers. Where I got beyond a setting of 11:00 clock with none of my guitars (Fender Strats / Teles and Gibson Paulas), because otherwise it was really shrill.
Presence of singlecoils practically not relevant (ie rather 0). The 3-band control is fine, with the center control rather higher centers.
The amp can build up pressure in the clean / crunch area.

pedals:

The loop works well. Reverb (Nine Bar) and Delay (Boss DD7) he takes well. Zerrer before the amp are different, as with most amps. Okko Diablo and div. Tonehunter Zerrer are doing well. Even the Tubescreamer likes the amp.

Optics / Processing:

Fine, nothing negative noticed. On the contrary, the price is above average.

Speaker:
I've never heard of Celestion Midnight before. After a few hours at home and 1 band rehearsal, I think the speaker is not so bad and he stays in there for the first time. Trial comes in a 12-V-type, shouts somehow afterwards.

Comparison to the Origin 20 combo:

On-site at Thomann I was able to test the 20s and 50s combo in A / B comparison. The 50s has won (clearly) for me. The 10er V-Type in 20s combo or this combination I did not like at all. The 20s sounds like shoebox for me, should be cramped, less dynamic, slack. The 50s on the other hand sounds more open, dynamic, lively. The 50s reduced to 10 watts is still loud and sounds loud. The 20s reduced to 7.5 watts sounds even näselnder than 20 watts. Good, but everything is subjective.

Why is the amp left?

I stand on easy dirt in the clean Stratsound on Neckpickup. He is good at that. He also has a clean headroom, but always with the background that I like to have a bit of dirt in it.

Conclusion:

As a result, the 50s combo sounds neat and is relatively dynamic, always in the price range. The 20 combo he strikes in my eyes by far. If you use FX loop, you unfortunately have a huge fiddling with the wiring to the very poorly accessible sockets. In addition, when using the loop always the Footswitsch must be connected and the loop to be activated. The Origin 50s. Combo is not a miracle box, but with underlying consideration of its price range a quite neat and visually successful amp.

Marshall Origin 50C

Alex\m/_, 30.04.2018
The Marshall Origin first impresses with its appearance. Wonderful vintage look and flawless workmanship. I really like the design itself very well.
I feel the amplifier as pleasantly large. Too bad that the less powerful variants must always be smaller.

I have the Origin standing in my living room with me. So home use. Why did I still opt for the fifties version? Because of the 12 inch speaker. Of course you could take a 20 Head and a 1x12 Cab - but I did not want that. I wanted a working self-contained device with a balanced bass and I got that.

The sound really blew me away. From almost clean clean to blues to rock / hard rock, anything is possible. (70s-80s rock)
The AMP delivers a dynamic, warm and powerful sound. Price / Performance Top!

The features convince, even if that may not be enough for some. I think Gain-Boost and Tilt-Control are very ingenious features that allow you to create very good sound variations. Sound enhancements are possible without any problems, because you can use different pedals or effects einschleifen.
The operation is very easy and uncomplicated.

The amplifier is definitely the right one for me and I'm glad to have bought it.
Keep it up Marshall!
