Analogue predator

Padriguesh, 05.02.2018
Use:
I bought this synth mainly to have a proper bass mono synth with user friendly editability. For this reason it really fulfilled my expectations and its sound potential is capable far beyond.
Since the editability (microtuning, motion sequencing on 4 parameters, slider?s parameter editability) is quite unique, this synth gives you an opportunity to sound little like Aphex Twin do. This synth definitely contain a small portion of Richard?s music genius/soul. Presets are really usable and anyone can super easily change them to own taste (parameter or melody change).

Clarity:
Sounds are clear for whole sound spectrum (basses, leads + sequences) Leads are crispy.. basses are really juicy and loud. The low-end is really deep and some bass presets totally fill the whole room while lush basslines on whole low octaves scale.
Motion sequencing just make the groove unbelievably aggressive.
I use this synth as a sequencer for other synths to force them a little Aphex feel.
The maschine just pushes me to be creative and try out always new and new combinations.

This synth is definitely an analogue predator. :)
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED INSTRUMENT.

Pros:
- powerfull agressive analog sound + drive,
- audio in,
- Aphex Twin?s soul,
- battery powered - transportability,
- ultrafast LFO, ...

Cons:
- only 16 step sequencer,
- tempo sync cant be applied (change of presets changes also the set tempo),

Enjoy small events with smaller children

Toc6, 30.12.2017
This little synthesizer has already been discussed controversially. Above all it was called what he can not do everything and how pointless so small dwarf synths are. I have to contradict and write ahead: The Monologue is a lot of fun!

Positive: The operation is almost a breeze for people with a sense of synthesis. Especially because of the small equipment you can get out of the little fast. Classic sounds go easily from the hand, nasty Geschwurbel goes too. Particularly positive to note: The fast LFO, which can serve as an optional one-shot also as an additional envelope. The LFO can also sync to the tempo of the sequencer and thus to MIDI Clock.

Negative: Some not so unimportant parameters are hidden in menus, eg the keyboard tracking of the filter. The preset sounds are mostly cruel, especially a smart guy came up with the idea to detune some presets about the program tune function. That no power supply is included, bothers me pretty much. What I miss most, but where there is still hope for retrofitting by firmware update: No tap button for the pace. I play a lot of free music in sessions, there is no computer that provides the MIDI clock, so I tap into drummers.

There has been a harsh deduction during processing since I opened the monologue: The keyboard does not consist of stored keys with return springs. Rather, the keys end in thin plastic, which itself serves as a spring. At some point this will be tired and break. That can not be repaired well. Very bad for sustainability, Korg!

My conclusion: For 263 euros in the special offer, despite all, a bomb machine. The soundscrew is a lot of fun. Of course, this thing is not a production machine for whole tracks. But if you need a real synth bass, for example, or a classic or solo line or a nasty sound, you can catch the right device here in a quasi-handbag format, which will happily be added to the vehicle fleet.
