I ordered the suitcase especially for the storage of my Gretsch Streamliner G2622T, among other things, because with me a storage in the lying because of the available space is more easily possible. I have previously asked by email at Thomann whether this suitcase really better matches this guitar than comparable suitcases.
First impression: Very good, the suitcase does not stink and it is not perfect, but still clean. I would not expect perfection for this price either. The buckles do not buckle, the suitcase closes easily and really ausschließend.
Second impression: Help, the case does not fit for the guitar!
More specifically, for the body size in the dimensions of width and length, the case fits perfectly, but the guitar is quite wrong in it, so that the neck-side part of the body is much higher than the bridge-side.
A little research has shown that this must be the case with suitcases for guitars of this type, especially those with Bigsby. Only if the body is inclined in the suitcase, the strings are horizontal and you have enough space over the bridge and over the Bigsby to close the suitcase.
Third impression: The suitcase actually fits, but has a weak spot. To support the necessary angle of the body, suitcases for such guitars must provide some support under the neck half of the body. If you look at suitcases by Epiphone or Ibanez or Duesenberg for such instruments on the Thomann website, you can see on the photos of the opened suitcases that there is such a real wedge in the upholstery of the floor. The Gretsch case has no such wedge, it's just the padding at this point about twice as thick as the rest, but that's not quite enough, that the body really rests there. The guitar is therefore on the one hand on the neck support, on the other hand on the edge of the body at the other end. This can be improved by sliding a folded cloth under the neck half of the body. I immediately took the black sack (made of viscose?) Into which the suitcase in the transport box was still packed extra. It works, but it's just not perfect.
The Streamliner (not bought at Thomann) is a cheap (but good) guitar, the suitcase is a cheap suitcase, so I'm halfway satisfied, but only if I put price and performance in a realistic relationship.
Oh yes, packaging and delivery time as well as the information about the delivery date were perfect.
