AH
Great looking guitar with some issues
Anga Hansi 15.08.2025
The good: Gorgeous looking instrument! Action is very nice out of the box. Tuners and volume and tone pots all function very well. The paint and bindings are without flaws.
The bad: The fret ends needed attention as they were quite poky out of the box. Guitar is heavy, and the sound of the pickup is not to my liking (of course what sounds good is a matter of preference). After about a month, I noticed a crack in the fingerboard past the 15th fret. Also, the bridge post seemed to be leaning worryingly on the bass string side (using 10-46 strings), but after installing a tailpiece I found that the bridge post itself was not leaning, there is just quite a lot of play between the post and the socket.
Modifications I made: After taking care of the fret ends, I changed the pickup which improved the sound of the instrument immensely. I installed a cheap tailpiece for semi-hollow guitars which made the already very handsome instrument look even better to my eyes. I also added a cream P90 cover and gold knobs for good measure. After these modifications the weight of the guitar seems to be of little importance to me.
My overall thoughts: A looker with some issues. Fret ends will most likely need tending to if you choose to buy this instrument. Whether the sound of the pickup is appealing is a matter of taste. I do find the crack in the fingerboard to be worrisome and will be keeping an eye on it. The rest of the finish etc. is quite good.

S
Very poor QC
Spacecrawl 25.06.2025
First one I've ordered had a very rough bodywork around the place where neck pickup is usually located. Had to return it, as it's unacceptable level of quality for a 1000 EUR guitar.
Second one did not have this problem, but binding had uneven paintjob as if it was discolored - partly white, partly ivory. Also back of the neck has few spots with sloppy paintjob.
The guitar itself is fine - it's a guitar, duh.
But considering the amount of returns, I would not suggest buying this. Epiphone just does not care about quality at all. Yes, this guitar definitely has its mojo, but I would much rather spend 1000 EUR on a PRS or LTD.
