More warmth than the regular 60
If you're looking for a warmer sound than the regular 60, and a good companion to the 85, look no further.
I've really enjoyed the regular 60 for over a decade now, but the 60A really blew me away.
It's slightly less hot than the 60, but is still a loud pickup.
It has more warmth to it, not as harsh and aggressive as the regular 60.
I'm not going to replace the regular 60's I have in some of my guitars, but it'll be in my to-buy list for future pick-up swaps.
Huge pro to all EMG's are the solderless installation kits they come with.
Takes so much time and effort out of swapping pickup's.
Plus you can get almost every type of switch you'd want from EMG them selves. 3-way toggle, 3-way Tele/Strat and a 5 way "super" Strat, so you can eliminate any soldering.
Like Lego, but for guitars.
In conclusion:
If you want an upgrade from an 81 in the neck position, or a good companion to the 85 in bridge, or maybe just want to try something different... Then this pickup is worth a shot.

i personally love it, though your mileage may vary.
when it comes to pickups it's always going to come down to individual user prefference. that being said, i've been looking at this pickup for a while now and after getting it, i must say - I'm very much satisfied.
it's alnico magnet gives it a rich warmness in it's tone compared to the standard EMG 60 which is caeramic. i preffer this 60a much more. i replaced my previous EMG 85 neck pickup with this and it's both a little brighter and warmer at the same time. the bass isn't as overwhelming anymore and it seems to have a little nicer of a mid bite. the lower output is much appreciated coming from the 85 to the 60a too.
installation was as easy as it gets for me personally since i already had a solderless 85 in the neck. all i had to do was disconnect one and connect the other.
packaging was fine. it's a pickup. listen to samples before you buy, it's the only way you'll know if you'll like it. or play it if you can.

Great for arabic buzuq
I found this pickup great for electric arabic buzuq, and now I'm making buzuqs for many professionals using EMG pickups

Nice paired with 81
I have had this installed in my guitar for a few months paired with an EMG 81 and I love it. It's a warm sound that sounds great either clean or distorted. The quick connect system makes installing so easy.
