The 14"x5.5" DW PDP Concept Series Black Wax Snare Drum features a maple shell and the MAG snare strainer used in DW's high-end snares - despite which it is still available at an affordable price. 100% maple - any questions?

Maple has long been considered one of the most popular woods in drum construction, as it produces a balanced frequency spectrum and thus offers a wide range of uses. The Black Wax Snare has ten layers of this, giving it a shell thickness of 8mm. The magnetic MAG strainer can also be operated almost silently, which is a clear advantage on stage and in the studio. The DW Black Wax Snare owes its name to the matt black surface, which creates a pleasant contrast to the chrome-plated hardware.

About PDP Drums

PDP is the acronym for "Pacific Drums and Percussion" and is the name of a California-based drum and hardware manufacturer. The company was founded in 1999 by DW Drums to offer affordable instruments in addition to its own exclusive - and correspondingly expensive - brand, DW drums. To reduce costs, the production of the drum shells was outsourced first to Mexico and later to China. PDP has always used many original parts from the DW series. The DW PDP 14?x5.5 Black Wax Snare is a superb quality product at a very affordable price.
It arrived strongly packaged and unboxing and tuning was very easy.
Once tuned it came to life with excellent tonal quality, Remo heads ,decent snare action / clutch, and choice of maple wood offers a balanced choice for new or expereinced drummers
A well made product ,good looking ,and great sounding ,I could not recommend it highly enough,

Really nice maple drum for the price, solid and dynamic. Good factory heads but I paired it with the aquarium drum headas.

Quería una caja barata para los ensayos, y me acabo de enamorar.
Mucho más bonita que en las fotos, y con un gran sonido para el precio que tiene.
Me hice a la idea de que cuando la recibiese y la probase tendría que cambiar los parches, pero nada de eso, suena muy bien con los parches originales.

Jouant sur fût en métal (Pearl) depuis plus de 40 ans, j'avais envie par curiosité d'essayer autre chose.
C'est ma première caisse claire dont le fût est en bois et je suis plus que satisfait de ce nouvel achat.
Je ne peux que recommander.
