Heads up

At first glance this is a fairly good looking drum . There is a nice grain pattern showing through the black gloss finish and the black hoops enhance the sultry vibe. It appears to be a well built snare drum for the price point.
Now for the heads-up or rather heads-off! I’m sorry , call me a drum snob but the best way to to improve any drum is to put good heads on it : so off comes the remo ut (not made in USA) heads and on goes the ambassador coated batter & emperor clear reso .
Now we are getting somewhere . A wee bit of tweaking and we have a very decent sounding snare drum that gives a great crack when cranked up a bit.
By the way - I always use O’ rings (Aquarian, Remo or Evan’s) and/or moon gel to control unwanted overtones.

Ich habe mir diese Snare zu meinem Mapex Set dazu gekauft weil ich die Standard Stahlsnare nicht wollte. Und ich muss sagen ich bin „gerade“ für den Preis mehr als zufrieden.

Verarbeitung wie immer bei Mapex 10/10 und die Optik genauso.

Vom Klang her auch super aber das ist ja auch immer Geschmackssache. Aber wenn man sich etwas auskennst und mit dem Thema beschäftigt kann man ja aus den meisten Snares einen guten Klang rausholen.

Von mir definitiv eine Top Empfehlung.
