It’s great for being able to play sitar type sounds without having to learn and own a sitar. But the quality is poor. The intonation is shockingly bad, mine is nearly a semitone sharp at the 12th fret on the 3rd and 4th strings, and there is no adjustment possible. But I was expecting this.
I don’t regret buying it, as it is great for recording vaguely Indian sounding ideas, but you do have to use it within its limitations. I work out a part I want to play, staying within a few frets, and tune it so that sounds in tune, knowing that if I stray too far up or down the neck it’s going to be out of tune. I see it as a novelty item rather than a serious instrument, but as said I don’t regret buying it. It adds something nothing else can.
