Successors of Daddario EXP13

I play a Takamine TSF48C. EXP16 were the strings they advised. I went to Elixir nanoweb but I prefered Daddario. I just went from EXP16 to EXP13 slightly lighter. Now Daddario changed its sets of strings. Those new XTAPB are just perfect for me. If you carefully wipe them after a session, they last a far longer time than plain strings. And they don't turn up dull!

Les XTAPB sont moins bonnes sur la longévité, elles s'effilochent à l'attaque du médiator, elle n'ont rien à envier aux EXP26 1152.

Ich wollte diese Saiten mal als Alternative zu den gängigen Elixir Saiten ausprobieren. Kurz: sie sind keine Alternative!

Der Gesamtklang ist zwar insgesamt voll und lebendig, allerdings nur für kurze Zeit. Nach knapp 1 Monat nehmen die Brilianzen deutlich ab und der Klang wird stumpf. Elixir Saiten sind zu diesem Zeitpunkt gerade mal eingespielt und halten bei mir gerne knapp 1 Jahr, auch bei sehr häufigem Einsatz.

Selbst die nicht-beschichteten Daddario EJ26 halten länger und klingen besser.

Ein weiteres Problem war, dass diese Saiten absolut stimminstabil waren und sich über den gesamten Zeitraum nicht gesetzt haben.

Für mich leider ( auch bei dem Preis) eine absolute Enttäuschung!

vergleichbar mit EXP26

ein glücklicher Musiker, 27.11.2019

da ich einen hohen Saitenverschleiß habe, brauche ich einen Ersatz für die leider nichtmehr lieferbaren EXP26 mit welchen ich immer sehr zufrieden war. Gitarristen gelten ja in der Regel als konservativ. Die als Ersatz vorgeschlagenen Daddario XTAPB1152 Custom Light gefallen mir soweit sehr gut. Sie sind klanglich näher an den non-coated Saiten und fühlen sich sehr gut an. Stimmstabilität ist hervorragend. Die Haltbarkeit scheint mir allerdings nicht so gut zu sein wie bei dem Vorgänger EXP26. Als ich meine Breedlove AC25/SR Plus nach einem Gig mit abschließendem Saitenabwischen mit Dunlop 65 String Cleaner wieder angespielt haben scheint mir die Brillianz etwas nachgelassen zu haben, was aber erstmal nicht stört, da zuviel Brillianz nicht immer gewünscht ist. Fazit: guter Nachfolger aber an die EXP26 war ich gut gewöhnt und vermisse sie ein wenig.
