Smooth operator

I got this pot for my Les Paul as I did not want to install a push-pull tone knob. This is the perfect solution for my coil splitting, as it maintains full humbucker mode when at 10 while allowing me to dial in anything between split (1 coil only at 0 position) and humbucking mode.
Good quality, would buy again in a heartbeat.

If, like me, you very rarely ever use your tone pot, and you prefer the option of removing it from the circuit when not in use, this is a good option for you.

I've always found CTS pots to be of good quality, with good action and ratings always well within tolerance levels.

A very short shaft
Natalia Markevich 18.04.2026
This potentiometer's shaft is shorter than the shaft of standard AllParts 250 or 500 kOhm potentiometers.
I had a hard time screwing in a standard 500 kOhm potentiometer.
For my PRS SE, I cut off the protruding tab on the potentiometer and removed the inner washer.
This potentiometer definitely won't fit "without a load."

I'll be installing it inside the tone control, and the shorter the better.

Not entirely satisfied

I'm not sure how I like the tone control on my guitar now. But perhaps I chose the wrong capacitor to go with it..? Maybe. Nonetheless, this is a sturdy pot and it turns great, smooth but not too smooth
