Aloittavan podcastaajan unelmalaite. Hinta-laatusuhteeltaan lyömätön!
Neljä mikkisisäänmenoa. Jokaiselle kanavalle on low-cut ja limiter -efektit. Limiteriä erityisesti on kehuttu. Phantom-virta valittavissa joka kanavalle erikseen. Virransyöttömahdollisuuksissa P4 loistaa: virran saa joko 2 x AA-paristoakusta, USB-tietokonekytkennän kautta tai standardi USB-laturista (5v/1A) tai powerbankista USB-johdolla. P4:n kanssa voi lähteä minne vaan äänittämään podcastia.

Huom! Pakkauksessa mukana vain itse laite ja kaksi paristoa. Eli laitteen käyttöön ottoon tarvitset - mikrofonin lisäksi - muistikortin (SDHC/SDXC Class 10, 32 – 512GB). Lisäksi laitteen kytkemiseksi PC-tietokoneeseen tarvitset USB-A –> USB-C -johdon.

Jos haluat tehdä puhelinhaastatteluja, tarvitset TRRS-johdon (3.5.mm plugi, jossa kärki ja kolme rinkulaa, ’tip, ring, ring, sleeve’ molemmissa päissä).

Zoom PodTrak P4 toimii siis PC:een kytkettynä samalla äänikorttina (2 sisään/2 ulos), et tarvitse erillistä äänikorttia.

Tämä laite olisi täydellinen (!), jos siinä olisi 48khz näytteenottotaajuus vielä lisäksi. Nyt vain 16bit/44.1khz, joka sinänsä podcast-tuotantoon täysin riittävä.

Hento muovinen tallennin

Zoom podtrak P4 on hinta- laatu suhteeltaan vähintäänkin hyvä ostos, jos vertaa muihin markkinoilla oleviin tallentimiin. Laite on hieman älypuhelinta isompi ja muovinen ulkokuori tuskin kestää kovia kolhuja tai osumia. Näppäimet ja säätimet pienet ja hieman omalaatuisen tuntuiset mutta ovat ainakin itsellä ajaneet asiansa. Raitojen siirto koneelle helppoa esim Teamsin kautta nauhoittamlnen onnistuu helposti ilman turhia kikkailuja. Kaiken kaikkiaan kelpo laite tähän rahaan.

Handy audio interface/standalone recorder

Bought primarily for recording phone calls. Tried using other workarounds but this device makes it so much easier. Good audio quality and usability generally. LCD is small so a little difficult to read at times. One star off for build quality (plasticy all round). My one issue with this device and so many consumer end devices is built quality and longevity. The body of the device and the fittings (battery lid) feel only ok. I would pay an extra 10 or 20 euros for something with more ruggedness. In terms of environmental impact and economic (not buying a replacement soon) I would just like more solidity, but that's subjective I guess. Overall, recommended and does the job.

An fantastic piece of gear

Absolutely seamless to set up. Huge amount of features for the price. Easily drives even the most gain hungry of dynamic mics. I was worried about the headphone amps from the other reviews but unless you are an absolute audio evangelist this will not be a problem at all. I record a podcast with two remote hosts and myself local to the device. The remote guests record into one stereo track on the P4 through USB to my Macbook and i record to a mono track with a Shure SM58 connected to the first input. Everything works seamlessly. The mix minus functionality is simple and effective. I'm left with two tracks which i can apply post production edits to and publish with ease. The sound pad feature also works very well. I highly recommend this product.
