Effective wind protection- if a little pricey

Provides good protection but the optional windjammer is essential. Just a note about sizes- Rycote recommended the 21mm for my microphone (BP-4025), in practice the 21mm was way too tight, and actually broke when being fitted.

It works well, but is expensive for what it is. However the only other option for this level of wind protection is a blimp. Generally I would recommend it.

Good quality, but terribly overpriced

It dies what it is supposed to do, good quality. Good longevity. But still, waaaaay to expensive! (I have two, because I need them and there is zero alternatives)

Seit einiger Zeit besitze ich den Windschutz,
Rycote Baby-Ball Gag 22 mm Durchmesser.
(Artikel-Nr. 274716).
Mit den Mikrofonen Neumann KM 183
(Artikel-Nr. 168546)
Setze ich sie für Außen Atmo Aufnahmen ein.
Bei normalen Windstärken, sowie Fahrtwinden, z.B. einfahrenden Zügen usw.
erfüllen sie ihren Zweck gut.
Hier ist kein Höhenverlust hörbar.
Verwende ich hingegen den dazu passenden Windjammer (Fellwindschutz)
(Artikel-Nr. 262701),
sind die Ergebnisse sehr gut.
Der dabei entstehende leichte Höhenverlust kann später
Mit einem EQ ausgeglichen werden,
wenn man dies als erforderlich empfindet.
Die Windkörbe haben kaum Gewicht, ca. 70 g pro Korb.
Sie sind gut zu handhaben und stören nicht bei der Positionierung der Mikrofone auf einer Stereo-Schiene.
Auch die KM 183 sind ein Leichtgewicht, ca. 80 g, pro Mikro Länge 107 mm.
Die Stereo-Schiene schlägt mit etwa dem gleichen Gewicht zu buche.
Also das ganze System ist nicht, nach meinem Ermessen, schwer und sperrig in der Handhabung.

Ich kann die beiden Artikel nur weiter empfehlen.

J'en ai commandé 2 pour me permettre de prendre des ambiances en extérieur avec un couple de Neumann KM184. Il s'adaptent parfaitement au micro.
Il faut absolument prendre en plus le baby ball wind screen pour réduire encore d'avantage les perturbations dûes au vent. Avec c'est juste parfait... tant qu'on n'enregistre pas pendant une tempête ! ;-)
