I use this boom arm to keep my 20" ride on my bass drum (right side).
I love how you can keep it totally straight (like vertical stand with tilt) or make the 90 degree angle with the arm including the tilt. It's very customizable. It's easier than having a cymbal boom stand next to your bass drum taking space from crash-stands or floor toms. In case you have 1 tom in front, (or two toms with a double tom holder like I do, or 1 tom on the bass drums left holder and 1 on a cymbal stand..) this is the thing you want to get for your ride. It saves space, and I think it's good to have the ride pretty low to play due to ergonomy. You don't want it too high, a bit more to bass drum height feels very good to me atleast.
The only thing I didn't like, which is why I gave this 4 stars overall, is that the boom arm is too short. I don't want to stretch to reach the ride bell, so I bought a longer boom and that's it. 100% pleased.
Perfect stuff, but the boom was too short.
