Stands like a pro but adjusts like a n00b

I bought this to be used as dual mic holder for small compo guitar cabinets. With Adam Hall SDMSB190 Stereo bar, it can hold 2 mics. This is pretty solid and bullet proof stand and it really keeps everything in right place. ..and that is extremely important when placing mics on guitar cab.

Amount of adjustment found from this tripod is extremely small. I had to put one fat book under it, for mics to reach right spot. So becarefull and double check dimensions. Adding double bar will increase available mic capacity, but also gives more options for adjustment even when just one mic is used. Together with double bar, this is a wonderful option for putting 2 mics near one speaker. Just bear in mind, that speaker has to be at almost ground level.

Yes, this is shortest stand I have seen, and I would not call this adjustable. You can tune the height a little, but that's all. But in same time, the simplicity of this thing makes me think that this is the exactly right solution for my needs as a guitar cap mic holder.

Somehow I feel it is easier to replicate the mic positions, than with ordinary mic stands.

the lack of adjusment is an issue here.

The huge problem is that you can not adjust height and "lenght", if you use this for micing a kick drum, you will have a problem. This door stop is fixed in to a certain place and kick drums might have the hole for recording in totally different places and you can't get the microphone inside the kick drum if you need to.

So i used this mostly to hold my handy recorder Zoom h4n and for that this is good. you can put this anywhere and it is stable.

For kick drums no, but to other things it's good and simple.

Ostin telineen Shuren bundlessa. Se toimii treenikämpällä pienellä asettelulla ja pyörittelyllä, mutta ei missään nimessä seiso kuin tankki. Jos tätä joku keikalla potkaisee, on aika todennäköistä että mikki pitää asetella rauhassa uudelleen. En ostaisi keikoille tai vakibacklineen soittoravintolaan, mutta treenikselle tai muuhun staattiseen kotikäyttöön edullinen ja simppeli teline tämä on.
