I was kind of on the fence about buying a compressor - they aren't a flashy category of effect pedals and therefore don't get discussed a whole lot. But I wanted something to sharpen and define my guitar sound, and settled on the Keeley Compressor Plus. I was very impressed with how much it unmuddied my tone, and having blend adjustment on a compressor makes a world of difference in general. There's a reason you see this particular one on many pedalboards, I personally can see myself using this in many contexts from ambient to metal. Based on demos I've seen only a handful of (more expensive) compressors on the market can do a better job. All in all this pedal is great value for the money.
