64 Audio U12t

Espectaculares a nivel sonoro. La tonalidad es impecable, brindan una buena sensación de detalle y cuentan con una escena sonora amplia. Además, se incluyen tres filtros intercambiables que permiten ajustar el nivel de graves a gusto de cada uno. Como aspecto negativo destacaría el elevado precio, muy difícil de justificar, especialmente teniendo la baja calidad de la mayoría de los accesorios incluidos (almohadillas, funda protectora y cable de dos pines). La propia 64 Audio ofrece productos con mejor relación calidad precio como los U6t y los nuevos U4s.

I have bought the U12t after reading many reviews and ranking sites on the web; I am not an audio expert.
I am using it exclusively at home hooked to a Chord Mojo DAC.

The sound is neutral but with solid bass and nice trebles; overall extremely detailed and clear.
Build quality and design are top-notch in my opinion, 64 Audio is now my favorite IEM company.

The only minor drawback is the stock cable, it’s too rigid and microphonic: I have ordered the 64 audio premium 8-Braid Cable.

Nach meinen In-Ears von KZ ZAX war ich nach besseren auf der Suche, zumal ich diese an einem Chord Hugo2 betreibe. Schnell stieß ich auf 64Audio. Also, ab zu Thomann gefahren, um mir diese anzuhören. Dort konnte ich völlig unkompliziert die Neo und Forte von 64Audio testen – besten Dank an die super freundlichen Mitarbeiter dort! Ein Besuch bei Thomann lohnt sich wirklich. Man muss es mal gesehen haben. Jedenfalls war ich von dem Service und den In-Ears von 64Audio dermaßen begeistert, dass ich ungesehen und ungehört die U12t bestellt habe.

Schon die Verpackung macht Freude: Die U12t sind minimalistisch in einen Leder-Case verpackt und es wirkt alles sehr wertig, was es auch ist. Lieferumfang ist ja bekannt, weshalb ich hier nicht näher darauf eingehe. Ich fange mit dem mitgelieferten Kabel an. Das ist wertiger als das von den Neo und Forte, die ich vor Ort getestet hatte. Das Kabel hat wohl zur Vorversion ein Update erfahren. Dabei beziehe ich mich auf meine Bestellung, die ich im August 2022 aufgegeben habe.

Der Tragekomfort ist einfach überragend und nicht mit dem von KZ ZAX zu vergleichen. Die U12t gehen nicht so tief in die Ohren, was für meinen persönlichen Geschmack sehr gut ist.

Nun das Wichtigste, der Sound: Meine weiteren Ausführungen beziehen sich auf die Standard Apex Module m20. Der Bass geht tief genug, ohne zu dominant zu sein. Der Fokus scheint hier auf niedrigere Frequenzen zu liegen. Für Bassheads könnte das eventuell nicht genug sein. Die Mittenfrequenzen sind präsent, ohne zu stark im Fokus zu sein und fallen nicht unangenehm auf. Die Höhen sind ausgedehnt in den oberen Bereich, ohne dabei schrill zu wirken. Vielmehr sind diese sehr weich und fallen nicht unangenehm auf. Insgesamt kann man sagen, dass sich die Sound-Signatur neutral mit einem leichten Bass-Boost darstellt. Für mich sind das Allrounder und somit für jedes Musik-Gendere geeignet.

Unterschiede im Sound mit den mx-Module: Man merkt sofort, dass die Geräuschisolation zur Außenwelt geringer ist. Ferner wird der Bass reduziert und der Frequenzgang ist gefühlt flacher. Dafür haben die Mitten und Höhen mehr Präsenz und die Soundstage öffnet sich ein wenig mehr. Für mich sind die mx- Module mehr für Klassische Musik und vielleicht weniger für bassbetonte Musik geeignet.

Mein Fazit: die U12t von 64Audio sind sensationelle In-Ears, die ich jederzeit wieder kaufen würde. Und nochmals, herzlichen Dank an den super freundlichen Service bei Thomann.

I've had Sennheiser's IE600 IEMs for a year, but wanted to upgrade to the very best. These are the most common favorite amongst IEM reviewers who have tried +100 pairs. I use nothing except IEMs for music listening and take them almost everywhere I go.

My rating is absolutely 5/5, but first I have to mention one comfort/quality negative: the included cable. It has a hard plastic bend that hurts my ear shape and makes this IEM completely unwearable. The cable also feels rubbery, and I personally find the shiny black rubber to look cheap. I bought a custom Letshuoer cable without this bend and have no problems with fit/comfort now. It's from a mid-range IEM but feels much higher quality.

Now for the positives: these have absolutely incredible sound. I'm most astonished by how well these extract detail from YouTube quality music. I didn't know all of these layers and details existed in compressed low quality music files! I'm less likely to use Tidal now, because even low quality music impresses me through this pair. Poorly mastered tracks sound good too, never piercing or sibilant. It's like having two Genelec speakers pointed at me everywhere I go.

Comparing these against the IE600 is like comparing 50€ IEMs against the IE600. Switching to the IE600 from these, everything becomes boring, flat and single-layered. Switching back to these, the music just pops and floats in a bubble around my head. The price stings, but I can't say that I'm not extremely impressed. It's an effect you can't imagine before experiencing it. Sound isolation with the silver M20 tips is very good, no wind sounds when biking.

I've found the choice of eartips to be very important. To my ears, the deep insertion "default" silicone tips sound the best with clear detail. SpinFit tips sound muffled and blur detail. The foam tips also sound a little hazy, but they're the most comfortable for me. So I've cut them to be shorter, which improves detail for my ears. The choice of eartips is very critical to make the best out of this IEM. Please spend time trying all of the included ones!
