Good for the price
zdenek.martinek 09.02.2022
I already had the t.bone Ovid System CC100 and this one looked just as a better version of it. I did not look at its pictures carefully and when it arrived, it was quite a surprise - this microphone is much bigger than the CC100. Look at the picture again and compare the size of the mic with the size of the connector. The tube of the mic has about 25 mm in diameter and is about 70 mm long! It is also heavier, but that is a positive - in comparison with CC100 it seems to be less sensitive to the noise delivered through the holder. I am using it for flamenco guitar, bought one bundled with the CC200GH (Guitar Holder), which is much better than the holder for CC100, but also much heavier. So far I have made just some comparison recording of CC100, CC200 and studio condenser mic, and the sound quality of CC200 seems to be very good, definitely better than CC100.

Na takové to domácí nahrávání a na malé akce dobrý pomocník. Za tu cenu tj dobrý pomocník na kterém se dá hezky testovat. Funguje

Still seeingif it fits my purposes
Kikodasneves 14.12.2024
Bought this to amplify my electric archtop guitar in addition to the electric pickup sound. The microphone sounds great recorded, not like a really good large diaphragm microphone, but still very good and serviceable. However, when I try to plug into my acoustic amp, I get really intense high frequency feedback at really LOW volumes. So I’m not sure if I will be able to use it live, I have to try it in a gig situation. I’d say probably not because the volume I can get out of it before feedback is pretty much just a bit louder than the unplugged guitar.

Good mic for price but physically bigger than expected
DaveScot 17.05.2023
I bought this mic as a better alternative to the Ovid series which I also have. (The Ovid is OK and sounds good on most instruments but the quality is lacking - I already broke one and I worry about the thin cable etc.) This mic is noticeably higher quality in the build with a proper replaceable balanced cable (Thoman sell the cable separately) using standard connectors and the mounting hardware is all metal and feels much more robust. From the frequency plot it also seems to have a wider response especially down into lower frequencies. However you should be aware that the physical size of the mic capsule is MUCH larger than the Ovid capsule. Almost twice the length for example. So it's fine on some instruments but looks kind of silly on a violin or flute. The reason it's larger is that the electronics are mounted with the capsule not in the XLR adapter. This is good as it means the signal going down the cable is both higher gain and also balanced to avoid interference, but it's bad because it makes the mic physically much larger. So be aware - if you value quality and robustness buy this mic, if you value discreteness and size, buy the Ovid RC.
