Articulate and very versatile pickup

I've bought the 59/09 as a replacement for the HFS pickup in my Custom 22 guitar. Compared to the HFS it is much more articulate, has more top end and is less muffled. Coil split in it is also better as it is not as bright and shrill as the HFS so no need to adjust the tone knob everytime you switching the coil. The sound is superb and works in all styles. It's also perfect for down tunings as it handles low frequencies very well and remains perfect articulation. I can't recommend it enough. I will now need to order the matching 59/09 neck pickup as the VB is also a bit to dull.

Fantastic pickup

exceptionally clear, full and rich sounding pickup. EQ balance is perfect to my ears and the split sound is among the best I've heard.

One star deduction in terms of quality because I can't understand why they make the three conductor wiring so damn thin. Of course, this is also the case with most other brands so I guess we just have to accept it.

Es gibt keine besseren PU's!

Ich hatte schon praktisch "alle" HiEnd PU's, die man so kaufen kann, aber zusammen mit den Gibson Custombuckern sind die 59/09 das Beste auf dem Markt!
Beste Artikulation, Saitentrennung, kein Gematsche beim Halspickup, genau die Richtige Mischung aus Vintage und Moderne. Die 59/09's sind in allen Musikstilen zuhause.
2 meiner PRS Gitarren hatten sie original verbaut, bei den anderen habe ich die HFS/Vintage Bass bzw. McCarty's gegen die 59/09's ausgetauscht - die klingen jetzt um Welten besser!
Ja es stimmt, sind sind sehr teuer - aber hiermit hat die Humbuckersuche ein Ende!!!

PRS SE 85/15 S ausgetauscht – und nicht bereut

Ich konnte durch den Austausch die 59/09 direkt mit den 85/15 S vergleichen. Es ist definitiv eine andere Liga: der Klang ist nun hochwertiger, voll, rund und gleichzeitig mit Biss. Allerdings bekommt die Gitarre bei diesem Tausch eine andere „Stimme“. Der Charakter des Klangs ist stark verändert, daran muss man sich erstmal gewöhnen. Aber das neue Qualitätsniveau mag ich nicht mehr vermissen. Am beeindruckendsten ist der Split Sound mit beiden Single Coils (von beiden PUs je die äußeren Spulen zusammen). Die Kombination ist brummfrei und klingt absolut fantastisch. Die 85/15 S sind im Vergleich äußerst dünn in der Split Schaltung.

Der Treble Pickup speziell ist mittenbetonter. Man bekommt einen sehr klaren und durchsetzungsfähigen Sound, der bei etwas mehr Gain schön ins Singen kommt – klassischer Rock Lead. Für High Gain Stile ist der Pickup wohl weniger geeignet, dafür klingt er zu klassisch ('59).
