Origin Effects Halcyon Blue Overdrive

Not the cheapest, but wow, this is a very very fine pedal.
Low noise circuit, very well working and responsive adapt circuitry that regains the bass freqs when picking lighter.
The tone and dry/wet controls are working excellent (especially when using higher gain settings).
This mild gain, soft clipping pedal is meant to be plugged into a responsive well build tube amp to hit the input harder, or to add a little gain..
I was surprised how well it performs when being stacked with other pedals. Fuzz's and Wah's going in and ambient fx post it, did not result into strange behavior and felt quite natural.
The whole thing is build sturdy, the switching is soft and quiet. all connections are on the top and of high quality.
Soundwise, I was pleasantly surprised by its dynamics. Not the best cleanup with the guitar volume control at higher gain settings, but pretty decent.
This is one of the few pedals that made me feel Iike there was some pre amp tube tucked away in there..
The only remark I have is its height, but this was no issue to me since I use a switcher.
Instantly made it to my pedalboard and was satisfyingly gigged with. I used it as an always on pedal to compensate for volume reduction while retaining some of the amps (Marshall JTMs) feel, sound and response. (for as far as possible, not including power amp and speaker factors).
Also have a Halcyon Gold (Klon version) that is excellent (but different: hard clipper, better cleanup, more mid push) as well.

Ich bin Bluesbreaker süchtig und habe sie so ziemlich alle. Der Halcyon ist insgesamt der dynamischste, vielseitigste und best-gebaute BB-Klon, den ich kenne. Der Adaptive Modus tut exakt was er verspricht und man wird das Feature bei jedem anderen Pedal vermissen. Und die Art, wie das Teil auf Pick-Attack und Volume-Pot reagiert, gehört zum Besten. Punkt. Der Sound ist, sowohl im Standard als auch im Mod Modus hervorragend.

Warum dann der Punktabzug?
Leider hat das Pedal einen Buffer, den man nicht abschalten kann und auch wenn er nicht so gräßlich ist wie bei den Boss Pedalen, verändert er den Sound negativ, wenn das Pedal aus ist. Und damit meine ich hörbar. Als 'always on' Pedal oder in einem Loop Switcher ist das natürlich kein Problem, direkt in der Signalkette sollte es eine True Bypass Option geben.

Je l' ai comparé au king of tone d'analogman qui est aussi un circuit de type bluesbreaker. Je trouve l'halcyon meilleure, plus de clarté et des aigus (corde de mi et si) plus épais mais c'est assez proche au final avec plus d'option sur l'halcyon. C' est une sorte de super clean boost avec plus d' overdrive, c' est super transparent. C' est une super pédale.
