Klar, das Ding bestellt man, wenn man den originalen Oberheim Sound liebt. Und klar, da ist es toll, dass das Gerät optisch dem alten OB-X nachempfunden ist. Und auch klar, dass man sich über die vielen vielen zusätzlichen Optionen freut, die hier eingebaut sind. Aber warum macht Oberheim so ein Riesenteil (innen ist er fast leer) mit schönen großen Knöpfen und versteckt alle zusätzlichen Features auf "Page 2", die man nur über ein superwinziges Display erreicht? Es hat etwa die Größe einer Streichholzschachtel... Trotzdem: Der Sound ist groß und daher gibt es von mir viele Sterne :-)

Awesome sound, so so built

Let’s start with the postives.
- It sounds amazing, awesome and whatnot hyperboles to put it. When comparing with my Summit or Hudrasynth the Obx8 sounds like so organic and the sounds have so much depth and width. It’s easy to get carried away when creating sounds because it just sounds sooo good. I prefer the Summit for making sounds, since I find the Summit more intuitive and I feel I have to think more when creating sounds on the Obx8. As many have mentioned in youtube reviews, the “page 2” thing is really annoying.

On the negative side:
I had to return my first Obx8 because a button was unresponsive from time to time. Thomann acknowledged the issue and replaced the unit really fast. All buttons on the new unit work, but they don’t feel great. I would not be surprised if another button fails. They don’t have the same click in general and feels different in general. Complete lack of consistency. The potentiometers feels really solid though.

Overall great synth, hope to enjoy it over many many years.

Großartiger Sound und erstklassige Verarbeitung

Einige Page 2 Features hätte ich natürlich gerne mit Potis und Knöpfen gehabt, aber bisher stört es mich weniger, als vorher angenommen.
Sound ist große Klasse und bringt mir oft ein Lächeln ins Gesicht. Gänsehaut inklusive😁
Verarbeitung ist super.

ich habe viele synthesizer, analog, digital, billig, teuer, eine bunte mischung, aber der obi übertrifft alles. einziges manko ist die page 2 bedienung. ich verstehe ja, dass man originalgetreu bleiben wollte, aber mir hätten ein paar mehr potis gefallen.
ober er das geld wert ist, tu ich mir schwer zu sagen. im grunde tuts ein prophet, polybrute oder ähnliches auch. sie klingen nicht ganz so dick und vintage, aber das macht im zusammenspiel mit anderen instrumenten kaum einen unterschied. ich bin jedoch liebhaber und nerd, darum oberhiem :)
