KNA Pickups AP-2 Universal Pickup

I bought this little pickup to use with various instruments that don’t have them built in, including a Nisoria lyre harp – which it worked well with. I have since purchased a Sutton Hoo lyre harp with fluorocarbon strings; I used the pickup with this lyre recently at an open mic, fed through a PA system, and it worked splendidly.
I don’t have any other pickups to compare it to, other than the ones built into my guitars. I’d be interested to compare it with the “Ode” pickup by Luthieros, which is built for use with lyre harps and ancient instruments. However, the Luthieros pickup is £129.08, so at £33, this pickup is much more affordable.
It has a lovely wooden appearance which blends right in on the Nisoria lyre and still looks great on the Sutton Hoo lyre which is a different colour – a sort of two-tone wood look.
You get two adhesives with it, but I was concerned they seemed very sticky and also that I would be adding and removing them frequently as I moved it from instrument to instrument, so I bought some ‘Double Sided Adhesive Dots’ from Amazon and these work brilliantly.
So, it is affordable, attractive, and works well; I can definitely recommend this pickup, especially for lyre harps.

Für einen schmalen Taler hab ich den Blindkauf gewagt. Installiert wurde es an einer Ukulele Style O ( sehr einfache Handhabe). Verstärker der Wahl war ein Schertler. Ich muss zugeben...ich war relativ überrascht wie gut und auch authentisch der Sound rüberkam. Vor allem aber durch das experimentelle Pedalboard wurde es echt richtig interessant (klar für reine Puristen jetzt weniger interessant), aber es geht hier um meine persönliche Erfahrung.
Fazit: ich würde es jetzt nicht an einem Vintage Instrument anbringen wollen. Da gibt es hier sicherlich auch geeignetere Sachen. Wer aber ne simple Lösung mit ordentlichem Sound (ohne zuviel Verfremdung) sucht: klare Kaufempfehlung!
