subtile and ambient shimmer

Good choice for a shimmer pedal. Like the JHS hall reverb it is really astonishing quality for the money.

The shimmer is nicely integrated in the reverb and sits just a little bit on top in case of octave up shimmer. If you want an explicit octave up apart from the reverb, this is not the best (but I don't like that kind of shimmer).

It can go really long en fully wet which opens a lot of ambient possibilities.

It is well eq'd. It keeps some subtile definition, also in the lower regions with the octave up, wich makes it very usefull to play with. It also has some subtile modulation I think, wich makes it more musical.

it is a really nice shimmer reverb !

You can use it as normal octaver and reverb but the compilation of both is totally unexpected!!!

Super Shimmer, hab mich dann allerdings doch für den JHS Hall Reverb entschieden

...und das nur aufgrunddessen, dass mir der Shimmer Effekt im Allgemeinen - wo ich anfangs dachte den brauch ich unbedingt!! - nach relativ kurzer Zeit "genug" war. Aber diesen Job erledigte dieses Pedal vorzüglich. Dass es einen Schalter für höhere/tiefere Oktave hat ist ganz nett, für mich klang die tiefere aber immer nach "wenig erregend". Die höhere ist super. Ich dachte ich könnte es vlt auch als "normalen" Reverb konfigurieren indem ich den Octave-Poti einfach ganz runter drehe. Geht ganz gut aber ich hatte auch den JHS Hall Reverb parallel da und muss sagen , dass mir dieser dann doch einfach mehr Fundament und mehr Möglichkeiten offerierte als der Octaverb. Vor allem im Bereich Tiefen bis Mitten. Also Shimmer super, tiefe Oktave eher unnötig, und für alle die mehr Flexibilität abseits von reinem Shimmer suchen würde ich zum JHS Hall Reverb greifen.

Vielseitiger als gedacht

Auf dem Papier ist das Pedal ja Recht simpel. Ein reverb mit octave. Eine echt gute Idee die ich sonst noch nicht entdeckt habe. Es lässt sich oft nutzen, bringt bei der tiefen Oktave dem Instrument mehr Druck und eben mehr Tiefe. Die hohe Oktave lässt sich super für leichte, verspielte, Klimpereien im Hintergrund benutzen und schimmert träumerisch in die Weite.
Wenn man alles voll aufgedreht und die Tiefe Oktave nutzt hat man eine übel geile swell Maschine. Etwas crunch dazu und ab geht die Reise in fremde Sphären.
Ich bin begeistert!
