Quiz – How serious are you about rehearsing?

In this #PracticeRoomDays quiz we attempt to dig into your psyche and reveal just how serious you are about rehearsing…


The rehearsal is scheduled for 7pm so you arrive at the practice room:
at 7:15 because being on time isn't rock 'n' roll enough
at 7 sharp
at 6:45 so that you can get a head start on setting up
at 6:30 so that you can do some warm ups in the hallway before rehearsal
at 7:30 because you missed the bus

As you unpack your instrument you notice that you:
forgot something, again
have your instrument or whatever is necessary to play
packed extra gear in case something breaks
packed extra gear, tools for fixing and a checklist
are the only one still unpacking

Before you start playing you are most likely to:
chug a beer (or two)
silently make sure everything is plugged in and set up correctly
talk about the song and set list with the mates
stretch and do warm ups while discussing the songs and set list
diligently practice techniques

As you begin playing you:
Immediately blast your instrument in order to drown out everyone else
Listen carefully to your instrument and how awesome it sounds
Listen to the sound of the band as a whole and note what needs to be turned up or down
Listen to the sound of the band, adjust your instrument accordingly, make mental notes on the mix
Immediately begin noticing your bandmates' flaws

When you finish with the first song you:
blame your mates for the mistakes they made
immediately start playing the next one
tell your mates that it was OK and move on
talk about the take in detail outlining what needs to improve
take a break to recharge

When your guitarist is playing waaay too loud you:
let it slide, she/he will never change this bad habit
throw your instrument at them
wait till the end of the song to tell her/him
stop the song and kindly tell them to turn it down and listen more
play louder

When the drummer and guitarist start arguing and it gets serious you:
start yelling "fight, fight, fight!"
tell them "cool down, it's only music"
take a 5-minute break and suggest that they discuss it peacefully outside of the room
discuss the issue as a band and take a vote if needed
take the opportunity to work on your solo

When the rehearsal is just going horribly you:
get frustrated and kick the amp over
tell you band mates "we suck"
take a break and talk about what might be going wrong
tell yourself and your band mates "you win some, you lose some", play a cover or have an improvised jam to release the tension
call it a day
