The complete drum recording and live rig
The t.bone Drumset 1 Set is the fully self-contained version of the DC 4000 Set – seven microphones, four beyerdynamic MKV 87 rim clamps, seven the sssnake SM10BK 10m XLR cables, and three Millenium mic stands, enough to set up and cable a complete five-piece kit from scratch without any additional hardware. The mic complement is identical to the DC 4000 Set: one BD 25 Beta dynamic bass drum mic, four CD 56 Beta dynamic snare and tom mics, and a pair of EM 81 back-electret condenser overhead mics, all in a rugged aluminium carry case. The beyerdynamic MKV 87 rim clamps mount the CD 56 Betas directly onto snare and tom hoops, while the Millenium stands and 10m cables handle the remaining positions. For drummers and engineers who want everything in one order, this is it.
Three mics, three roles
The BD 25 Beta is a hypercardioid dynamic microphone voiced for kick drum – a tailored frequency response that emphasises low-end weight and beater attack, with a maximum SPL above 155dB and a sensitivity of 0.6mV/Pa suited to the high output levels inside a kick shell. The four CD 56 Beta supercardioid dynamics handle snare and toms: a 150dB SPL ceiling, 13.7dB(A) self-noise, and a response extending to 16kHz keep stick attacks clear and transients well-defined. The beyerdynamic MKV 87 rim clamps attach to any standard snare or tom hoop via a 3/8" thread, positioning the capsule precisely without a stand occupying floor space around the kit. The two EM 81 cardioid condensers are positioned as overheads, capturing the full stereo image of the kit – cymbals, room, and overall balance – with a low 17dB(A) self-noise. They accept 48V phantom power, making them compatible with virtually any interface or mixer.
Matched from kick to overhead
The Drumset 1 Set is aimed at drummers and engineers who need a coherent, matched set of microphones for a standard five-piece kit – live, rehearsal, or studio – without assembling individual mics, stands, and cables at higher cost. The hypercardioid BD 25 Beta and supercardioid CD 56 Betas keep bleed between close-miked sources to a minimum, which matters on crowded stages where isolation determines how much control the engineer has at the desk. The rim-mounted CD 56 Betas sit closer to the drum head than a stand-mounted mic typically allows, improving isolation further and reducing the risk of accidental displacement during energetic performances. The EM 81 overheads, beyond their primary role as cymbal and room mics, are versatile enough for acoustic instruments, ensemble recording, and any source where a natural condenser capture is warranted.
About the t.bone
Since 1994, the t.bone has been one of Thomann's in-house brands, and its name can be found on devices such as headphones, wireless systems, in-ear equipment, and various microphones and matching accessories. the t.bone products are made exclusively by renowned companies who also manufacture products for other well-known brands. This provides a clear advantage: Brand-quality products at very reasonable prices. And word gets around: One in seven Thomann customers has already bought at least one product from the t.bone.
Hit them hard
The CD 56 Beta capsules are protected by a double-reinforced wire mesh grille – layered construction that shields the transducer from direct stick hits without compromising the sound. The BD 25 Beta and EM 81 housings are equally robust, built for the physical demands of live drumming environments. All three microphone types handle high sound pressure levels without distortion – the CD 56 Beta's 150dB ceiling in particular means it can be placed anywhere on the kit, or repurposed for close-miking loud guitar amps and brass instruments, without risk of overloading. The Millenium stands have been selected for their drum kit roles specifically – the compact MS 2002 short stand suits the kick drum position, while the two MS 2003 boom arms provide the reach and adjustability needed for overhead placement in virtually any acoustic setting. The MKV 87 clamps are built to beyerdynamic's manufacturing standards – reliable under the physical stress of hard-hitting live sets and precision studio sessions alike.
