I used this TA50 to replace the sound amplifier in a coffee/cafe shop. The old amplifier was big and complicated, a very good 70 watt stereo (2 x 35 watts) & plenty loud enough to rock out our main street through good quality PA speakers, which it did all through the summer.
This TA50 is a "one knob" & a couple of switches amp, simple enough and small enough to make more space for the new "big" coffee machine on the shelves behind the counter. It has a couple of nice brackets to attach it under (or over) shelves or on the wall. Looks good too.
The sound from this amp (40 watts stereo) 2 x 20 watts, is clean & smooth, without distortion (if fed sensibly), not too much treble or not too much bass (no on board EQ), but still plenty loud enough to be heard on the terraces outside as before.
The cafe belongs to my Mrs, she plays classical/piano mp3 music from her lap top into the TA50, sounds nice, pleasant, clean, using the lap top's EQ. When she is away and I am behind the bar, the classical music turns to heavy rock & the volume knob on the TA50 gets turned well up, it handles this surprisingly good too.
I do sound for bands @ weekends and (I think) I understand sound & music pretty well, we (the band) use up to 3 KW of sound at festivals, This is why I appreciate the little TA 50 & its sound capabilities.
Unfortunately there was an error. Please try again later.
Fine small crash-maker
I was looking for a small, really easy to transport and budget-friendly end stage, so that even with small celebrations in the family without disturbed looks at the guests can make reasonable music. Not everywhere is a CL108 / CL112 combi possible and necessary ...
The operation and the connection of the t.amp is self-explanatory, 5 stars without restriction (PS manual is only available online on the web page of the music house).
The features with 1 star trigger - Why?
The power supply provides 24 volts with 1500 mA, ie 36 watts. Whether the promised 2x 17 watt = 34 watt RMS at 4 ohms at the usual efficiency degrees are possible, everyone likes to evaluate themselves. For me, however, it is completely and completely, the boxes used by me can be in any case well controlled. Also, I am not quite sure whether the device is fully disconnected from the mains, as the red LED continues to light up.
The sound is - as far as I can evaluate with the boxes - neutral. There are almost no hum and background noise. The sound control has to be made, however, on request, eg at the mixer. This also applies to the balance.
For processing, I prefer a star. The device itself is small, stable and valuable. This also applies to the poti. But the connections are rather wobbly.
Very positively I would like to mention that even after several hours of listening to music with not low volume neither on the power supply nor on t.amp a noticeable heat development is to be found.
In conclusion, however, it is still a highly recommended device for the application area. Comparable (ie small) Class-D amplifiers from other manufacturers are significantly more expensive.
