For me the test winner
14.05.2016
As a decade-long user of the BETA58, I am, thanks to a guest singer, who used a Sennheiser E945 and which sounded simply much better now, came to the idea of ??getting me a new micro.
The for-and-again between dynamic and capacitor I have weighed before. I wanted to look more in the condensation corner. I have compared with the capacitors the Rode S1, Audix VX5, Shure Beta87a and the E865 as well as for safety a brand new Beta58 and an E945 from the dynamic fraction. For my voice, the Sennheiser E865 was there, the sonically convincing. The S1 was equally defective (the not completely unknown failure of the capsule), the VX5 was disappointing-kA whether it had also a defect, but with three different singers it sounded equally nasal and especially in the high range strangely dull -egal what one did- Whether with or without 10db pad, lowcut or EQ at the mixer. The two shures were ok-basically as usual-whereby the 87a now also the 58a not around worlds surveyed. The E945 was good, but the E865 makes it even more unstoppable sing.
Regarding the feedback safety, the E865 is the most insensitive of the condensate microphones I have tested - I could not really tell any difference to the dynamic representatives - the new Beta58, at least in my setup, even faster coupled.
The micro is a very, very loud rock band with only ground monitoring. Therefore, I was rather skeptical in advance whether it is already suitable because of the application area at all - but the E865 convinced on the whole line. Thanks again to the Thomann support.
