Ooooops, that's small ...

Mad Jazz Morales, 26.05.2016
... was the first thing I thought about unpacking. How, however, turned out to be a fallacy. The dimensions are nearly exactly identical with my old Sennheiser 835, but the shaft remains longer "young" and thus probably also the approximately 36g lower weight to the above candidate (324 - 360). Even after accurate and measured, the newcomer of Electro Voice is more elegant. The ND 86 is however perfectly in the hand!
The reproduction of the (my knowledge) first dynamic large-diaphragm handheld micro is the hammer. Neutral, but warm (is that then lukewarm?), My old ears say that all the frequencies of my sonorous (baritone / bass) voice are transmitted one by one. With favorable capacitors I always felt that the bass is also pumped up (in my voice absolutely unnecessary).
I use the microphone in various quieter constellations.
1. About a RCF console in a Mackie DLM 12 with my singer-songwriter duo "Svennä and Morales"
2. in my readings directly in channel 1 of the Mackie DLM 12 (Morales reads favorite texts, Morales reads his children's book etc.)
3. Morales makes musical caprices (something like cabaret) again in channel 1, channel 2 bass, double bass, guitar ...
4. Morales sings with Ralf Gauck folks (okay Ralf plays bass) in the Johannes Elevsen trio.
Handle noises were up until now not an issue, or not perceptible.
The feedback behavior I could not conclusively test, if EV this promise but also complies (designed for high volume), then the Straubingern a quite large litter succeeded. Next, I test the microphone as a voice recording Mike because as an egg-laying Wollmilchsau I had the black lightning, why not also my audiobook.
If I have anything to complain about, I'll supplement!
Edit1: Today rehearsal with rock coverband. Two very very good singers were allowed to check my new micro.
I almost could not hear it again.
Rarely never heard of a better microphone sound. U d today also the volume went up significantly without the risk of coupling.
Mr. Electro, Mrs. Voice, they have done very well!
Until now a very clear purchase recommendation from the most beautiful state in the world!

After almost 30 years as an unshakable Shure SM 58 fan, I have been convincing myself in a new folk band of this microphone and must confess: Why did I hold on to Shure as long?

Sound and assertiveness over every system (AER, Dynacord ....) better, clearer, less feedback, easy 1 A !!!! No more Shure, sorry, but true!
