Techra E-Rhythm 5b Sticks

For a carbon drumstick, these are on the heavy side, even though they are hollow right through. The parts comprising the stick (rubber back end, main stick, tip) don’t seem to be put together all to well. First, one of the rubber back ends came off, so I had to glue it back. After that, one of the rubber tips did the same (not sure if it’s the same stick). Have not glued that back on, though, since it’s all frayed and more or less falling apart. All this within two months of using the sticks!

These are claimed to be especially developed for e-drums. Well, that’s all fine and dandy, but they are most certainly NOT meant to be used on anything else than mesh/rubber heads and mesh cymbals. If you, like me, use low volume alloy cymbals, these sticks are not for you - the tips just don’t last. The tips on both my sticks are just about disintegrated after a couple of months. I don’t pound hell out of my kit and I don’t play for hours every day, far from it, but yeah...these sticks are not worth it, if you’re going to have to replace the tips every couple of months.

As I implied, I’m pretty sure you won’t have as much of a problem, if you don’t use metal cymbals on your e-kit, but still - these ARE rubber tips, they WILL wear out faster than your standard wooden, carbon or nylon tip, I fear. For the price you pay, I would say consider going for Techra’s Xcarb or Carbon Pro sticks instead, they’ll definitely last longer.
