Serves its' purpose... enough
I got this universal holder to attach my hi-hat to my Pearl drum rack. This holder attaches to a clamp which in turn is attached to the rack. It holds pretty well although I would have preferred if the bar had a texture to it so that it wouldn't slip.
Also, the clamp just barely clamps around the hi-hat unit but, for some reason, many clamps are like that. It holds on a few threads of the screw but at least it holds enough.
An other thing is that it doesn't rotate. If the bar needs to be set way back, it hits the screw at the back. One way around this problem is by lowering or highering the setup so that the bar can pass above or below the screw. Or one can adjust the rotation from the tiny allen screws but I would have thought that the designers of this holder would have made it easier.
Other than that, there are no problems whatsoever with this unit! Great, reliable and durable stuff from Pearl!
