Poor Quality Control
White Falcon 09.05.2021
I bought this and had high hopes. The first one had a neck that wasn't seated properly, so the whole neck tilted downwards and there was a big gap on one side of the neck pocket. The bass was "quality checked" by a guitar technician at Thomann according to a note in the package - yeah right. So I got a new one. The neck was properly seated on that but the A string was unplayable as the nut was cut so low that the string touched the wood on the headstock and this made it totally useless: buzz galore. Again, there was a "quality control" note from a guitar tech at Thomann, yeah right part II. I inserted a piece of plastic under the string at the nut just to be able to play the thing, and it sounded pretty good actually. The EQ is not much to hope for: boomy and hissy, not for studio work - but works for live gigs. After a video, photos and conversations with the repair department at Thomann (who seriously thought the nut had to be filed down even more to fix the problem!) Thomann sent me a new nut: the cheapest plastic nut they had. After a few more emails they finally sent me a bone nut replacement (as this bass have in its original state) and promised to pay for a local tech to fix the bass. And I'm thankful for this! Still, this whole situation could had been avoided if Thomann had a proper quality control department in the first place. All in all: think twice before you buy an instrument online as there seems to be a serious problem with QC from Thomanns side. After a six months the bass developed a few dead and buzzy spots on the neck (not string related), so mine haven't aged well.

Prisvärd!
Burner4 24.02.2021

Mine was faulty but great bass
paofredi 22.05.2022
Mine was faulty, one of the stacked knobs (tone) worked intermittently. Thomann was very nice about it and the bass is on its way back.
Apart from this minor issue which could certainly be fixed easily, it is a great bass, that sounds great, with a great preamp. Two downsides though: I suspect the tone in passive mode does not do a lot (but it may be because mine was faulty). And it is heavy.

I
Better than Gen1
IanSimpson 11.04.2023
A couple years ago, I had a Sire gen. 1. It was a good value but many thing left to be desired I thought. On this Gen.2 the main imporvement for me are :
1. pickups
2. brdge
3. feel of the neck (gen one was sticky, this one is satin)

Out of the box, my d strings buzzes quite a bit, can't figure out why. Waiting to hear from thomann about it.
