Lexicon PCM92

There are some different views on this unit(read Gearslutz..) about it being compared to the software. I was prepared to send the unit back if it would not make any difference to the software, and while being A/B tested HW vs SW I heard slight differences. The HW won me over this time, and I am keeping it. The small differences were such that it would put the vocals in place in a way that the SW algos sometimes lacked. Most people might not hear any difference at all, but I heard it in the mix(playing with vocals on karaoke songs etc..) Can't say why there is this small difference, and I have not yet tried to run the clock from my Prism Orpheus into the PCM(which might make a bigger improvement even..) I use it as a send effect into Cubase on PC. Only let down is that there is no control software for the unit for PC..? (Only Mac) WTF.. They only had like forever to get it done.. But used as HW, not something that was available before on older reverb units either..

La qualità audio di questo processore è indiscutibile. Si può controllare ogni parametro e questo rende la macchina molto complessa. Questo avrebbe richiesto un manuale di istruzioni più articolato e presente anche in lingua Italiana. Molte parti del manuale sono molto concise e penso che anche chi conosca bene l'inglese il Francese o lo Spagnolo di cui esiste la versione on line sul sito Lexicon si trovi un po' in difficoltà a tarare alla perfezione la macchina prima di conoscere tutte le potenzialità i vari sottomenù. Sarebbe stato meglio una descrizione più dettagliata cosa che forse è superflua per un tecnico del suono esperto ma non per chi fa un passaggio da macchine più semplici a quelle superiori. Dopo aver preso confidenza con la complessità della macchina però arrivano le soddisfazioni dalla qualità audio. Esiste però un piccolissimo difetto che per chi usa questo processore in una configurazione con controllo MIDI troverà un po' fastidioso. C'è infatti è un leggerissimo ritardo (latenza) nel cambio programma rispetto a quanto accade ad esempio con la velocità di risposta di altre unità che ho provato collegate al Lexicon PCM 92.
Calcolando la categoria del prodotto, il prezzo e la mancanza di una connessione USB per collegarlo al PC si sente la mancanza di una versione software VST con gli stessi suoni da usare col Computer.

c'est assez compliqué de comprendre comment on va des presets vers le mode de config ou des utility, c'est pas super clair,
après pour les parametres d'effet, j'aurais preferé une liste unique non triée, plutôt que ce truc à sous menu plus long à utiliser,
pour ce qui est du son, c'est pas la meilleure machine que j'ai eu,
quand même pas comparable à la bricasti ou à la 224XL
en fait je préfère même une vieille PCM91,

je ne l'aurais pas gardé longtemps cette machine, en plus, c'est quand même super galère à éditer
