Good classic eq
Bought this one mostly for the level control. I have the MXR 6 band EQ and it lacks the general level boost. I find the GE-7 to be as any other Boss pedal. Really well built and quality sound (though this pedal doesn't have a sound, which is a good thing). Downside I would say that the levers are a bit wiggly when then are at neutral position. Not a big thing, it works great.

solid like a boss and EQ fine but a little noisy
With my set up you can hear that it is a little noisy when on, not so much but I hear it at home studio levels. Turned up not noticeable at all. EQ works great and as always solid boss build

State of the art EQ
For me, the BOSS GE-7 has been great. It is a high quality product and still the price is reasonable. You can use it to shape your sound, obiously, but it also acts like a boost.
I use it to shape my tone when switching guitars between a P90 Les Paul, a humbucker/singlecoil/humbucker Ibanez RG570 and a vintage telecaster and it works great. This way I don't have to fiddle with the tone control on all my other pedals. I especially use this to take just a little top of my bright telecaster and it works great.
In conclusion: Yes, you can benefit from an EQ pedal and yes the BOSS GE-7 is a solid piece of equipment that will last a lifetime and be a vital tool in shaping your tone.

Great Equalizer - also works as solo boost!
Got this to use as a boost for solos, last in chain. Compared to other clean boosts, you can shape your lead tone to your heart's content rather than just adding volume. Want a mid boost? Just set it for that.
Drawbacks of using the GE-7 as a boost is that it gets noisy while boosting. Check guides to handle this as well as possible - you need to set it carefully.
Whether I use this or a more traditional clean boost pedal depends on what distortion pedals I'm running before. Sometimes you really want to add more mids, and this is perfect.
Otherwise it's a Boss pedal. Best pedal-switch on the market and overall impeccable build quality.

gör det den ska väldigt bra!
Använder denna allra sist i kopplingen för att fin justera ljudet! väldigt känslig eq så man kan göra drastiska ändringar! ända "dåliga" med den är väl att det inte går att låsa själva leveln på dom.

Good but bulky
Quality thru and thru, the best bang for the buck. But Boss really ought to re-design their enclosures or at least offer their pedals with a smaller mini footprint as an alternative. In the old days it was a nice solution with the battery easily accessible under the switch, but who uses batteries today?
