I’ve bought this as we’ve wanted the look and feel of an acoustic set without annoying my neighbors with my 3AM practise sessions:)
Just great, feels great to play, easy to setup, killing looks and the nice built-in sounds (don’t know if they are suitable for studio recordings but we have VST’s for that, right:)? )
Two warnings about the setup which annoyed me at first:
- Calibrate the high-hat before playing ( if not the high-hat gonna play what he wants not what you want:) )
- increase sensitivity of the base drum or adjust the pedal a little bit
you’ll thank me:)
The high-hat pedal could be nicer but nothing really important.
The quality of the built is impressive, overall would buy it again!
If you are thinking about “should I get wooden shells or just skeleton”, here’s the truth:
- yes, they are big (like any other acoustic), if you have a really small place, could be challenging to place them
- yes, the aesthetic changes the feeling
If you are thinking “too cheap to be true”
- the pads feel great in my opinion
- the triggers are good, not missing any notes after calibration, same triggers as the superior model as I know
- yes, 10$ for another set of drumsticks is a good decision, the ones included are light and overall rudimentary in my opinion
If you think “Is this ok for stage or recording?”
- yes, the sound guys gonna love not having to put mikes as they need for an acoustic set:)
-yes, recording is as simple as plugging it to a laptop.
