I bought the Evans sound off series for the entire drum set and while I am happy with all other dumpers this one for the hit-hat is the only one I do not recommend. Maybe it depends on the quality of the hit-hat itself, but this dumper makes the sound very ugly, unpleasant to play, no other way to say that. I suggest to experiment other solutions.

Hi hat cymbals are especially tricky when it comes to keeping their volume down and this is the only damper that takes the bottom hat into consideration, thus making it the best one right now. If you still think it's considerably loud, i would recommend getting a second one for the bottom hat.
