The best drum sticks (but not always)
Vater has the most durable, best playing sticks I've ever played. So usually I buy them per dozen, which is one casing in drumstick land.
Unfortunately I never receive an unopened casing from Thomann, they just grab 12 pair from the warehouse and put that in the shipping box.
Now, the last time I received my 12 pair I noticed very large weight differences between the sticks of a "matched" pair, and I have noticed that earlier with other pairs. They play different, they feel different, they break different (good Vater sticks never break, they just erode over time). So I decided to grab a scale and compare the weight of the sticks from the same pair. Most pairs had a difference of about 2.5 and 5 gram (a stick is around 70 gram). The lightest was 62.4 gram, the heaviest stick was 78.3 gram. That 's a whopping 16 gram difference! Both being 2B sticks from the same order but from differents pairs. The largest difference from the same pair actually was 78.2 vs 62.4.
Now, I will keep playing Vater sticks, but from now on I will be returning any received pair with large differences and sticks weighting less than 70 grams, as I find these to be unplayable and very undurable.

High quality
Vater is my favourite brand for drumsticks for the price/value and good durability. Although I play with 7A, I bought 2Bs for my dynamics practice and they serve me very well.

Excellent Vater sticks
The sticks are balanced, have just the right weight and feel great while drumming. They resist even the most merciless drummer (me), like all good Vater sticks, and they have a great grip even after hours of playing. Plus, the price isn't exaggerated. Really top class sticks!

Great, great sticks.
I'm a big fan of these sticks, having tried Vater on the advice of others, these are now my go-to brand. The finish is fantastic, perfectly straight, and nicely weighted. What's more, the finish of the wood seems to work really well with my sweaty hands. unlike vic grip or zildjan dip sticks, my hands seem to sweat less using these, since the wood lets the hand breathe, and even when sweaty, the grip remains solid.
An all round winner.

Solid stick
Delighted with this heavier stick on my mesh heads. Triggers activating consistently and increased playing pleasure.

Good sticks
These are my favourite sticks because I have pretty big hands, and I use 2B since a long time ago. I also like very much the touch of the wood, and they have this solid feeling I don?t find in other brands.
However, on the other hand, I have noticed in the last year or so that the wood is less durable than it used to be... and they break too early (I play as hard as ever). Maybe I have had bad luck with some of the last pairs I bought. For the moment, I will continue buying them.

My favourite sticks
I generally prefer a thicker, heavier stick and these Vaber sticks fit the bill perfectly. Also very long lasting, at least for my style of play.
